- YeahbigtitsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This author is taking us to an incredible adventure and to an entire and wonderful world. It is a real page-turner and every chapter gets you hooked. The characters, the atmosphere, the depiction of the feelings and of the nature surrounding where the story takes place are so very well described that it feels like this is not the first piece of work from the author. This is extremely promising and I cannot wait to read more of your work (please publish more !)
- ARR62Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have started and stopped all but one other story wherein the MC was reincarnated as a child and then had to grow up again. Most because the ability to juggle the mix of child body and adult thought is harder than it seems and one because it was too implausible. But in this story, like the other one I liked, the MC tells his parents off the bat, which avoids a host of problems, and the world has a tradition of reincarnated beings. Which is a plus and a minus. I've been referring to one MC but so far there are two, and ultimately three. I've read all of Book One now and the plot is still thickening, the storylines are beginning to show how they intertwine, and the kids are thankfully not too angsty. A good bit of world building has happened and in a really organic way, well done.
I love the differing povs we get, the switch to different character arcs, and how much we get to know the supporting characters. I know some readers don't like switching, but to me, it makes the story that much more real and engrossing.
This is a well written story so grammar/sentence structure/word usage hasn't come up once. There have been a few typos which happens to everyone.
Highly recommend. - DandyL1onRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love everything about the series so far, a slice of life litrpg that gives me some Wandering Inn vibes. It is really cozy to follow Doro and Emi on their respective adventures (cant wait to see where she's heading...).
I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes solid world building, well crafted characters, and an intriguing and funny story!! - Daoist Blurry EyesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I found myself enjoying this book a lot more than I thought I would. My favourite series is the wandering inn and one of my fellow readers recommended this as a light snack if I still wanted more to read between TWI updates. alongside "the love of a sword", I ended up enjoying both. Emi and Doro are both interesting characters and I quickly found myself invested in their growth. The cast of supportive characters is well fleshed out and I am enjoying most of their interactions. The worldbuilding is really where this author shines the most, you can tell that although the story is a bit slow to start, the writer prepared the world for the characters to move around and "break some shit". If I had one bit of criticism, it would be that although I understand everything without an issue, the writer sometimes makes strange word choices or phrases things in a way that don't feel quite natural. I don't suspect a.i usage though. Other than that, the story takes a bit to get going and there is one rather info dumpy chapter early on, but nothing else that bothered me. Definitely going to keep reading this one for a while unless the author really messes up.
- Emma DeCasRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I usualy read more LNs than WNs but I really liked this one. Felt like a cross between DR.Stone and ascendance of a bookworm with a bit of I am a spider so what thrown in with the owl girl.
Some people complained about the writer's style, and maybe it is because I mostly read translated stuff, but I didn't find anything strange. The story does seem to take a while to really get going, kind of feels like we are just finally getting past the introduction.
I like long-running series so I don't mind. - JoemadlyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well, that was... something. The plot kind of wandered, but I guess that’s a choice? The characters had moments—if you squint. And the ending? Let’s just say it 'happened.' There were words on pages, emotions were attempted, and in the end... it was a book. Interpret that as you will.
- Lite_CheeseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Absolutely love your writing style! Every chapter has me hooked, and I can't wait to see where the story goes next. Please don’t drop this—it’s too good! I’m eagerly waiting for the next update, like a little kid counting down the hours before a big trip tomorrow! Haha, seriously, keep it up!
- ACasualReaderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Worldbuilding is nice. I like the humour as well.
Curious for the future of it.
I'm a casual reader. One thing I have personally heard/read is that Hunter x Hunter (an anime I'm a fan of) has a main character that is relatively more simple compared to the other characters within the story. Which allows the author to write characters that pop out more and seem more "colourful".
I think that could apply here as well.
Either way I'm mainly looking forward to the rich worldbuilding. - VnatorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So yeah, I thought it'd be like another generic isekai litrpg, and while the premise is as such, the story is VERY fun and original. Not only that, but the plot, characters, and emotions kept me on my seat and wanting to keep reading chapter after chapter. Seriously, I thought I was done with litrpg, but this is too good to pass up.
To break it down, we've got two protagonists; a guy reborn as a kid from the industrial section of a large city, and a gal reborn as a talking bird. While they're essentially two different stories starting out, they take place in the same world, they know the other is somewhere around, and the focus is mostly on the kid.
So now let me break it down section by section.
Style:
Generally it's good. This is the author's first major novel, and it shows in how they handle some of the prose and the kid's dialogue (trying to sound older/more mature and thus uses bigger words yet feels a bit clunky), but it's easy to gloss over this for how everything else is so great. It's supposed to feel that way at least, as other characters comment on his strange speech pattern.
Grammar:
No major noticeable mistakes, everything's solid
Story:
If I could give this section 10 stars out of 5, I'd do it in a heartbeat. The story is written in a way that keeps you invested in what will happen next, or what actions the characters will take to follow up on new information, abilities, or events in the story. There's one big scene with the owl lady that really hits you in the gut with how it takes an entire village's history and consequences of their actions and just hits you in the head over it. I could see a lot of Wandering Inn influence with how the author came up with such a hard-hitting scene.
Characters:
The major and minor characters are all thoroughly fleshed out and are truly their own people with their own dreams, goals, fears, and follies. They truly feel like part of the world, and reading about them is always a massive joy.
Seriously, start reading this - Pepito-las-palmasRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story has some really intriguing spins on usual narrative crutches used on the site.
In the 4 first chapter the author took the time for fleshing out things like the system (That usually just happens and exist as a phenomenon of nature that just happened to happen)
One big detriment this story will have for readers is that the chapters are nuanced and lengthy, so it will be hard to skim-read without losing out on details that could be either useless or important later on (It's a Checkov's gun situation but the story hasn't developed that far yet, so for now they are ambiguous details that could become narratively important)
All in all, it's an interesting read, but the story is in its infancy, harboring a lot of potential yet to be realized.
