Description
Toni the TomblordDark LitRPG | Necromancer Protagonist | Grim Adventure | System Magic | Undead Minions | Death Aspect
Antonio “Toni” Perez was a pre-med student with a plan—study hard, survive college, and get into medical school. He didn’t expect to die during a strange initiation ritual… or wake up in a world ruled by Aspects—fragments of divine power left behind when the gods shattered.
Now, he’s cursed—or chosen—with theAspect of Death, the most feared power in Veridis. Undead walk at his command. Shadows whisper in his ear. And the cloak he wears tethers a ghost to his soul.
Problem is,necromancers like him aren’t just rare—they’re hunted.
The tyrant Rajek, bearer of Darkness, is gathering the Aspects for himself, forging an empire of twisted power and weaponized souls. Resistance flickers in the dark corners of Veridis, but trust is thin, and hope is thinner. No one expected another Death Aspect to awaken. Especially not in a half-rotted outsider who’s still figuring out how to summon skeletons without hurling.
Toni doesn’t want to be a hero. But if he doesn’t rise, this world—and maybe others—will fall.
He’ll have to master his powers, raise his dead, and face the truth:
Sometimes the only way to save the living… is to embrace the grave.

- Soldier789Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0this is probably the best rate I’ve ever had. I can only hope it keeps posting it. You mentioned to say it that we can go to. I might just do that. The ending was just so powerful. I wish the author the best in making the second book.
With great respect

Necromancer stories are amazing ... if done right and this one does it incredibly the pacing is perfect, the world seems to be awesome. The story also has a clear goal from the very start to defeat the big bad guy so the end is in sight and there is a good chance this story become into 20+ books long saga that never seems to end.
Story Score:-
I love the world-building till now. The world that's been implied seems very fantastical and complex. I personally love necromancer stories and this one has a complex system, lots of options, and spells seem so interesting. The pacing is also stable and just right, it isn't rocketing to the heavens nor is it very slow and boring.
Grammar Score:-
Impeccable grammar. I haven't found a single error in any of the chapters.
Character Score:-
The MC is relatable, not a murderhobo, and seems to have actual emotions. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that it has been 8 chapters (7 if you don't count the prologue), and yet he still hasn't read the lore the system provides. Imean, most systems never give a proper reason for their explanation until about chapter 300, and this one is giving the entire details. - PenumbrumRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I like the concept of it, I truly do. There are very few stories centered around necromancers, and which make them more than just undead summoners.
However, I can't really enjoy the story because of the pacing. The events move extremely fast. New get characters introduced and their opinions and actions towards the main character change at a pace where you can't really get emotionally invested in their interactions. Protagonist's and Niah's relationship develops so fast, it feels hollow and unreal. Not because it's badly written, but because with so much going on there's barely enough space for the author to put character interaction, resulting in most interactions feeling rushed.
Besides, the character just goes along with everything thrown at him and all the choices are made for him. On one hand it's a major plot point and a cause for character development, like, yeah, your life has been changed drastically, you've been burdened with a great purpose, how will you deal with that? However, up until Death Shrine, Toni's only true choice was to defend himself and to go along with quests. He joined the resistance no questions asked, knowing basically nothing about who he joined or the cause of the conflict. Although I get that with Rajek hunting for him, Resistance is probably his only option to get by, however it just feels limiting.Death Shrine plot honestly popped out of nowhere. Just bam, now he needs to go somewhere because the place calls for him. It all feels as if the protagonists has no agency at all, at least so far in the story.
Maybe it's just the beginning of story, and if I push through the pacing will improve. I'll try this novel some time later, but for now it's shelved for me.
Still, I wish author all the best. Thank you for your work.
