Toby's pawn and pecuniary services

There is something slimy attached to Toby's soul, and he really wants to be rid of it. Unfortunately, none of the major religions in the area will touch him with a 10 foot pole (unless said pole is on fire,) and no one else is likely to have any idea how to help him. Therefore, he'll just have to help himself! Maybe there's an arcane tome somewhere, or a wizard, or SOMETHING that can help him figure out what's wrong. Unfortunately, the searching is probably gonna cost a lot of money. Everything seems to cost a lot of money these days. Ugh. Guess I'll open a pawn shop, and try my hand at being a loan shark. That pays well, right? Right?? there's no way that could go wrong in any way.
