Description
What is fate? Is it as malleable as a sheet of iron, or is it as rigid as the core of the densest of stars?
In the world of Lactuca, it is not only as rigid as stars but as complex as the weaves that create the night sky. It too is, a pool of stagnant water that had not disturbed for ten thousand years.
This is a story about a foreigner to this world, who had seen the stars of another world.
This is a story about a princess of this world, who is the successor to an empire built on endless pillage.
With the spiritual ruler of the Northern Kingdoms, the Pope on his last breathes. And the founder of the Julian Empire in the South, Julia seeking to abdicate and live an idle life, how will this peaceful yet stagnant lake that reflects the starry skies stay restful?
