The realms of Tritham and Valtheaux have been embroiled in war for nigh on a century, with no signs of peace on the horizon. As the nobles struggle for supremacy, something vile festers beneath the surface of the continent. With wretched black magic at their beck and call, a cult of demon-worshipping witches has vowed to plunge the world into a neverending age of undeath.

Brother Alric is a Knight of Saint Thestus; one of many pious warrior monks sworn to act as enforcers of the Father’s will. As he campaigns against the new demonic cult, Alric is thrust into a secret world of ancient magic, monstrous abominations, and reality-shattering truths that will test his unbreakable faith.

Intriguing concept, well written in both style and substance. As of ch5 we're just getting to the mystery.
I have to fill in additional words, so let me sing the praises of the characterization and accent work. The divides in class and training are executed in clear and convincing manner.
    I'm in.

Ok so, this is one of the more interesting and unique stories I've read on this site. Overall, I found the mystery to be fun and the reveal to be even better. The sci-fi elements are sprinkled throughout the fantasy in various ways and pop up more often after the first couple of chapters. It does become a bigger plot point later on though.
For the most part, the story follows Aldric, a knight-errant, and the various things he gets caught up in during his quest to kill some demonists. Along the way, a mystery is alluded to and things are not quite as they seem. The story is very interesting, with chapters 24 and 25 spreading light on what's actually happening.
There are very few accidental grammatical errors, with the ones I've noticed being simple misplaced letters.
I personally enjoyed the style, as accents and speech patterns are varied and the descriptions of various "monsters" are interesting and let the imagination conjure up its own horror. In order not to spoil it, let's just say the author doesn't give detailed character descriptions early on for good reason. The descriptions that are given are kept vague enough to lull the reader into assuming, just to pull the rug out from under their feet later.
The characters are also well done, as the main guy Aldric has clear goals and values that he doesn't stray from. Of course, this doesn't mean all his actions are good, but he isn't a murderhobo who wants to kill everyone, just the heretics. The POV changes also have well-written characters, each with their own goals and personality that allows them to be fairly believable.
