- A 113Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book is truly a great read. If I had to point out a single flaw it would be the amount of foreshadowing, but even then the characters, plot, setting, and overall pace of the story is excellent. I only hope that one day the author returns to complete the book.
One the things I especially love are the interactions between Sirius and Mehr, the duo consistently bring a smile to my face whenever they're together, and you can really feel the brotherly love and trust that they have in each other.
Another thing I love is the complexity of the powers at be, there isn't just one overarching evil. There are different factions with different goals, all now vying to get a hold of the "Star", it really expands the world of the story, and makes it feel 'lived in'.
One of the issues I did have with the story was the absence of the diviner. While it made sense why it became impossible for them to meet, I feel like the story could have benefited from a chapter or two showing them becoming entrenched at the academy while awaiting for the presence of the "Star", but that's just my own thoughts.
Overall this story is genuinely amazing, and so far one of my favorites. I seriously hope that I'll wake up one day to an update on it. - Blind_WatcherRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Not the worse for being a reincarnation story, which is saying something. The story has pretty good pacing, the characters and world are well fleshed out adding depth to each chapter.
Not a fan of the first-person perspective being kept during POV changes. It's jarring and disrupts the immersion. This is accompanied by a little too much telling rather than showing during the POV changes as well.
Currently on Hiatus for personal reasons, but heres hoping the author comes back soon and takes care of themself in the meantime. - baelrathRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Its got all the big stuff. Prophecy. Good vs Evil. Chosen Ones. Heavy Hitters.
Into all that comes our MC, himself one of those afformentioned cast. Except given a chance to do it over again. This time with a Cinnamon Roll at his side.
How will this second chance be used...
Chapters are short, but characters are still will crafted.
Worth the read. - Gary DuganRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I should preface this by saying I am very picky about what I read. Very rarely will I find a book that holds my attention longer than the first few chapters. It's never because the book is bad mind you, but rather that I have particular tastes that are hard to satisfy. Throne of blood satisfies me with every chapter! Let's talk about the individual parts before I give my personal opinion!
Firstly is the style, the way the author writes isn't particularly flowy, but neither is it bland and logical, it meets right in the middle in a way that feels natural and immersive. Add onto the fact that they're writing in first person (notoriously hard to do) and you've got raw talent on your hands! I typically don't like first person stories, but this one managed to make me feel like thr characters. The only downside to this is that it can be a little jarring when in the POV of someone other than Mehr.
Next up is story, and WOW! As of the writing if this review, I've only made it to chapter 8, but the plot keeps surprising me and keeping me on the edge of my seat! There were times where my eyes practically bulged out of my head at some of the developments, and I rarely was able to predict what Mehr would do. I genuinely have no complaints about the story at this time as it's managed to completely immerse me, and I can't wait to read more!
There isn't much to say about thr grammar, this Author is very good at writing save for the rare punctuation that seemed off, or situations where I felt a word felt a bit out of place.
As for the character, I love him! He really gives off this hardened soldier vibe that the author seems to be going for; cold and calculating, but not bland or robotic in the least, which is hard to do in my opinion. Mehr feels like a real person who doesn't always have all of the answers, and the author didn't make them OP right out the gates which is something a lot of authors fall into.
Overall review? I think this author is incredibly talented, in fact this w - MalpharyxRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Style
This is a first person novel where the POV will change accordingly. It's my first time reading something like this by the way, but I had a good time reading throught this. It was a little hard to adjust my mind at first, but once I got used to it, it's not a bother at all.
Story
No need to say much about this. IT WAS GREAT!! Not too fast, not too slow. The battle scene could be used as a reference for my action novel as well. Thrilling is the word for this novel if I have to choose one.
Grammar
Some errors could be found here and there, but overall is good and smooth to read. Not that I'm a native English speaker though. :)
Character
I like this part most of all. Every character has their own unique personality and does not drop out of the stage when standing beside the MC. Not too many characters to remember but the story could go on with just this. At first, I thought the MC would be overpowering because he is one of those reincarnators with the knowledge and battle experience from his past life, yet the MC still has to struggle a lot in this novel. And that was also the first for me.
I’ve experienced a lot of firsts from this novel, so you should at least try it and see if you like it. - Crakednut69Royal Road★★★★ 4.0This story to say the least, is pretty interesting and fun.
The story starts off as the mc op dies from what seems like betrayal from someone that was close to him and an another man. But what I couldn't understand was why he was still willing to forgive the guy who who betrayed him.
Then he gets reborn as a slave in another world- a kinda generic plot. Now to why I still like the plot and the charachters.
The execution of the story is really good. Within a few chapters the book managed to suck me in and get hooked. World building could do with some improvements though. Personally I'm a sucker of op mcs so this one managed to gain my interest.
Charachters- I liked the mentality of the op and developed a bit of hate for Captain Dorian and that is pretty impressive going by the fact that i had only read about 3 chapters.
Grammar- There isn't much grammar mistakes but there are a few mistakes in the starting chapters that I've found. If the Author read over them once more I'm sure he/she will find those mistakes.
All in all i think this is a book that at the very least, should be given a try.
It's also very hard for Authors to post these many chapters normally so I appreciate the author for that. - OhNoRoyal Road★★ 2.0Pretty standard premise for isekai, with all the classic tropes. New world but same language, understanding of abilities carries over, le epic chosen one, etc. Not sure how on earth there is a 2yo punching bag? Like that is very concerning and weird. This is a level of wtf that absolutely needs to be explained in your story or it breaks immersion. Next is adding 'fate' aka plot armor to your story. POV switches that are exposition dumps. And finally, TALKING LIKE THIS. Or like this?!!! Just use proper grammar, you are writing a story not a text message. If there is extra emphasis just add it after dialogue.
