I dont think I've seen any political nonsense aside from maybe a few sentences in one chapter that I only remember existed but that I dont actually remember the contents of. even then it seemed more like defensive political posturizing disguised as very diluted virtue signaling. like seriously the only iffy thing I saw was so dilute that the author may as well have said "im not taking sides"
The novel art is a bit excessive so I hesitated to read it since it seems like it would be more at home in a Korean romance novel since the background of the art is barely visible.
I prefer human main characters myself though I mostly read ones where the mc is a former human that got turned into something else. The mcs intro to the demons was a bit stiff because it seems like he slotted into a demonic groove way to easily rather than it looking like he was nervously trying to fit in with aliens.
Here is another example of that weirdness from chapter 10:
"The happiest person in the entire crew was certainly Murphy. While the others were absorbed in acting human, faking appearances, and bracing for danger, Murphy, who had been mimicking human behaviours for over ten years, simply played himself. Even as a foreigner in this world, Murphy bore a significant similarity to the local human populace. His perfect act revealed no cracks, making him appear to Charlene as an outsider with just peculiar habits."
I think it would make more sense if he was a demonized or corrupted human rather than a demonic human since the charicter creation process made him seem more like a human that was getting demon powers rather than a human getting turned into a demon or a human getting corrupted by the powers he was being given. tbh the first chapter area may need a rewrite so it reads less like a fan fiction and more like the mc is like 20% less adaptable and the angel chick like 30% more sn
