After many trials and tribulations, the Jovian Gathering has established itself as its own force in the galaxy, and has re-integrated with the rest of the Federation. The USS Buran, 'on loan' to the Federation, finds herself at a crossroads in her life, and decides to have a child. A new generation of Ship Mind. She took a Chance.

Okay folks, so what we have here is a recursive fanfic of a fanfic set in a cross between Star Trek and The Culture. The originating fanfic isNot Quite Shodan (tropes link)by Hiver. It's of course not canon (unless for some mad reason Hiver says it is) and somewhat sillier and less serious than the source material, but I hope you enjoy.Feedback is, of course, well received.
