Volume 1 now available for pre-order onKindle
Sleuth out the reincarnators. Retrieve their jeweled eyes. Stop this world’s destruction. That’s Ailn’s reluctant mission—except he’s not really Ailn. He’s an impostor: a detective from another world who can’t even remember his own name.
"You took my memories, and expect me to do you a favor?"
"Taking them awaywasmy favor, Mr. Detective. Some endings are just too bitter. "
Summoned by a young god with a terrible habit of hiding crucial details, the detective must use his past-life instincts and emerald eyes to unmask the other reincarnators—all while wearing a mask of his own. Now he’s ‘Ailn eum-Creid,’ the noble son of a family that’s protected the empire from the shadow beasts for countless generations.
There’s just a few things the young god neglected to mention: the original Ailn had a trash reputation, he was just killed, and the prime suspect is his sister, the duchy’s beloved future Saintess.
First things first. Time to solve his own murder.

- 1thacaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I read this all in one go and it’s an incredible story! Really compelling prose that makes you want to keep reading and not put it down. The grammar is flawless; it’s very easy to read through, and chapters are a good length. I also appreciate the in chapter breaks.
The style is engaging. Though I don’t usually read novels from this genre, I was immediately drawn in by the opening chapters. I also liked the later chapters that experimented in switching perspectives to give you more insight into the other characters. The genre is new to me but the character being “born” in a different world was done well, and made me interested to learn more about how it works.
I immediately was intrigued by the main character. Ailn and Kylian have a great chemistry and I enjoyed seeing how they play off each other. I loved Sophie, and the knights and all background characters really added to the fantasy environment.
The plot was engrossing. There was just enough build up for the future that makes you still excited for more, while making sure to focus on the main story of this first arc. It was an excellent blend of mystery, fantasy, and adventure. I can picture it as a movie; the story was so detailed and immersive.
Can’t wait for the next arc to learn more about what happens to Aldous, Sophie, Renea, and of course, Kylian and Ailn! - 3calcmeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I will just mention the parts that strike me the most about this story as a mystery lover, as the other reviews have described the overall quality of this story better than I probably can (in short it's great, check it out, you're not going to regret it!).
When you read a detective story that is purely mystery, usually the detective character doesn't believe in myths and superstitions and will go on to solve a few cases where he/she has to prove a human did it instead of a ghost or something like that. The author mentioned somewhere that Sherlock Holmes is somewhat an influence, and you can definitely see the resemblances in the way the first arc is laid out plot- and pacing-wise.
Now, the interesting thing about this story is that it's also a fantasy story, where magic is real, the MC literally is isekai-ed, and the whole thing with Saintess and holy aura would have sounded very familiar for those who read Korean webtoons/web novels. How are you supposed to be a classic detective in that sort of setting? That's what we're here to find out!
Mixing those two aspects together in a story is certainly intriguing, and you can tell this story is written well if you've read the first few chapters and other reviews on the story, so it's not just mixing for the sake of mixing, it actually works better (than it has any right to be, really).
Other than that, I would note about Kylian, who is kinda like the Watson for our MC. Usually, there is a huge gap between the detective in a mystery novel and their, err, sidekick? The detective would be super smart, while the partner would be more normal like the rest of us, so the detective often outshines everyone in the story. While Ailn is certainly smart, Kylian is also pretty formidable in his own right (you can see it in the second half of the first arc), and I quite enjoy reading this dynamic in the story. And while it would be a bit of a spoiler, the antagonist for the first arc is pretty fun too, definitely no pushover even afte - Jive StaplesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A meticulous murder mystery further elevated by poignant turns, thoughtful characterization and the occasional hilarious bon mot.
The in-world characters, especially Kylian, are multidimensional; they have talents and insights as well as flaws. Ailn is a proper detective, not a functionally omniscient Neil deGrasse Tyson expy tomahawk-dunking his way through a squad of village idiots. His intellect is well-depicted; the reader gets a chance to see him ask questions and use the answers to adapt his heuristics to an unfamiliar environment. It’s been fun seeing the buddy cop dynamic between him and Kylian.
These Reincarnators Are Sus! very much puts the plot and the sleuthing first, without sacrificing depth. Looking forward to future installments. - LemanceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ll say this right out the gate. I absolutely adore the story so far and believe it has tremendous potential. Every aspect of this story oozes charm, from the characters to the outwardly simple plot line. The story follows a now-deceased detective, robed of his memories, who was reincarnated into another world with nothing but his detective skills to assist him and a goal given to him by a god to guide him: To find other reincarnated people from his world to prevent the destruction of this world. The story wastes little time introducing us to the major plot line we will now follow, with only a scene of foreshadowing, in the beginning, to set up our feelings of suspense for the first arc.
As someone who isn’t overly familiar with the mystery genre centered around crime-solving, I find the story remarkably engaging. The author knows how to feed both the characters and us, the readers, with enough information for us to follow along while keeping us in suspense over the missing pieces. The intricate situation and circumstances of the first conflict extend far beyond a simple “who did it” mystery, as the story never forgets to give us time to breathe regarding the information we gained with scenes of lightheartedness that never feel out of place, which is achieved by the fantastic chemistry of the characters. Making us care about the characters for us care about the plot line is an essential task for any story, and this does not exclude those centered around crime solving—quite the opposite, as characters are precisely what drive these sorts of plot lines. Setting aside the characters besides our central duo for the sake of spoilers, Ailn and Kylian are fantastic characters to follow along. The buddy cop relationship they share forms naturally and becomes a delight for us to witness. Ailn is the protagonist of this story, and the author sells his competence as a former detective incredibly well, while making sure to remind us that he is a human being who is capable of l - Spex130Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fantastic series. Really leans in on the detective aspect, and the cases are VERY creative!
The initial case involves solving a murder where the detective is the recently revived victim of said murder who has woken up with no memories! The fantasy half of the series provides a lot of creative problems to be solved, and the author weaves them together flawlessly. - WhitebloodRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Why do I have to suffer through this agonizing wait now? The dreadful waaaaiiitttttttt!
This story got me hooked0 in a way I didn’t expect. I binged it, I devoured it, and now I’m left with that hollow feeling of wanting more. It’s the kind of story that makes you feel like you’re right there with the characters, solving the mysteries alongside them—only to realize you missed some vital clues because you were too engrossed to slow down and catch the details.

Now, let’s get into the review.
TL;DR:
The characters are the heart of this story. They feel so real—each with distinct personalities and flaws. You won’t find any one-dimensional "Evil Demons" here; even the antagonists have depth. And the mystery? Chef’s kiss. It’s brilliantly executed.
Characters:
Like I said, the characters make this story shine. They're complex, layered, and human. You understand their motivations, even when you don’t agree with them. And I love that the antagonists aren’t just cardboard villains; they have stories of their own, making every encounter feel meaningful.
Grammar:
Nothing pulled me out of the story. The writing flows beautifully, with no noticeable mistakes.
Style:
The way the mystery unfolds is so satisfying. The clues are there, carefully hidden, but not impossible to find if you pay close attention. I wish I hadn’t binged it—I might’ve caught more if I’d slowed down. But honestly, it was too good to stop.
Story:
Even as someone who doesn’t usually read detective novels, I can say this felt fresh and unique. The world-building stands out—it feels like the author put real thought into the world’s structure and history, instead of making things up on the fly. There’s a depth to it that makes everything feel alive.

I’ll be waiting for the next chapter… impatiently. - logophobiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is.. very good. Think Sherlock Holmes combined with isekai fantasy. The main characters are not particularly powerful, but the mystery and political intrigue is very good. Throughout all the detective work, twists and turns, it's like you're slowly discovering a very interesting world. Layer by layer. And yes, all the reincarnators are indeed very sus.
- sjs6190Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I had my doubts based on the title but really enjoyed the first volume and I'm glad I gave it a try.
Pretty straightforward murder mystery to start, with a few Isekai elements added for fun. Plenty of Christie/Conan-Doyle homages for those that are looking for them and a nice payoff at the end. Worth a try and a nice change of pace from the more standard RR fare. - spiceboyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Disclaimer: As someone who has known the author for a long time, I am highly familiar with their work and overall style.
"These Reincarnators Are Sus! Sleuthing in Another World" represents a somewhat new territory for the author, at least in terms of what they've shown me. Given that background, for most authors, I would expect a somewhat difficult growing period before they find their footing. In this case not only would I not pass that judgement, I would be offended by anyone doing so. This is written by someone with extensive research and keen judgement, which allows them to jump into new territories with extreme competence.
The style, as I usually expect, is what leads here. I think that excellent style often transcends the medium of writing and becomes something you imagine moreso as an intricate daydream that you're experiencing. Such as the case here, where conversations as well as narration feel as natural as my own inner dialogue. The fundamentals are all excellent displayed here; constructs such as sentence length variation, use of grammar to illustrate cadence, and invocation of the senses are all utilized with great skill. There is a deep understanding of many different styles, and yet no real hint of cheap emulation. This is writing that doesn't copy; it comes from an authentic place that reached the same appreciation of writing that other authors have.
I would rather not give an advanced review due to my unfamiliarity with the genre, but I find it surprising how easily digestible it is given my lack of reference. Despite the effort the author puts into their work, there is no assumption or arrogance on their part; they respect your time, and want to reward you for coming along for the ride. I truly appreciate this quality, as I can't imagine how difficult it is to be this good and yet have the awareness to guide the reader along efficiently. - vk2189Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I never would have expected a work with "sus" in the title to be so good. This is my first review on this site, and it definitely deserves the 5 stars.
The mystery is very well done. It's fun watching the characters solve it while trying to solve it yourself.
Very well written, should be rated higher.
