What if one day, you learned that the world wasn't what you thought it was? Would you happy that magic, monsters, and all kinds of stories were true? Would you reveal in the idea that the world was now your oyster for you to enjoy?

Unfortunately, the world indeed isn't what it seems. For Jack, a normal man in the midst of several of life's speedbumps, he is most unfortunate to find out the life he thought he was living was in truth one under a veil. The world had long ago been lost to humanity, the age of myths ended with their defeat.

This wasn't a world ruled by humans. No, the world was ruled, by monsters.

    Seems to be a classical urban fantasy, not sure which mythology we will see within it. When I started it . I had an expectation though since there was a post apocalyptic tag. Maybe it's due to a litrpg I have read. But I expected for it to be a constant battle between human and monsters (those starting to mass genocide humans). Classical post apocalyptic stuff. But so fare it appears to be a classical urban fantasy, not even really that grimdark . Which am hoping will change with time ( I mean becoming more dark).
    MC is quite average, but he is improving himself (gym etc). Which makes him more appealing.
    It's really slow burn , the first ten chapters are basically  a big ass prologue. After thing start to change . Overall I'd suggest to give it a try.
    Tiny romance spoiler:
    He has a fiance , Emily ( don't even remember her name???)
    Honestly she appears to  be a classic human .
    Which makes the whole romance thoroughly boring . In such setting I usually have an expectation to see a tiny paranormal romance (as long as the context allows it).
    But for now it's Dresden and Murphy all over.
    But it's supposed to be a grimdark novel . So who knows what's going to happen in the future 😈
