Interesting premise for a book! I will say, perhaps you should skip the short explination at the start and get right to action. I was hooked by the second or so line, so you know you have quality! Also, I would give Clyde perhaps a short scentence of backstory or at least appearence. Make sure the two brothers are different enough if they are the stars of the book, because if we are seeing a lot of them, they need to be interesting enough with ample pieces of backstory to learn about.
However, if this book is about the Witch Doctor (which I'm kinda guessing it is, due to the title), the book may need a bit of editing, because all this basically told us about him was that he's a wish granter, and he uses souls, often men.
I dunno how you could expand the character, but if Clyde and Michael aren't the focus of the book, there is not much point of including them here in the first chapter (from what I can see) and it serves only to waste time instead of investing the readers in other things about our titular MC. This could be something pretty awesome if you work at it! As I said, love the premise! Good luck as a writer!
