Book One: The Child of the Volgs

Felitïajustwanted to be a wizard—so much so thatshe was willing to run away from a life of wealth and privilege to become one.She never expectedit to bea simple life, but she also never expected to developunreliabletelepathic powers, or for worshippers ofthegod of darkness and death tocome afterher, calling her “Will-Breaker” and seeking the location of someone she doesn’t know. On top of this, her best friend harboursdarksecrets, andshe’s started having memories of people she’s never met before.Everythingstarts tocome togetherwhen shemeets a young boy with unexplained powers. When Volgs, creatures out of legend itself, kidnap the boy, Felitïa decides enough is enough. If her enemies are going to keep calling her Will-Breaker, it’s about time she lived up to the name.

Book Two: Her Right Mind

Felitïa returns to Quorge, the city where she grew up, determined to uncover the secrets of her own mind, as well as those of Corvinian's strange powers, and the staff she retrieved in Ninifin. Yet the staff is clearly malfunctioning. It calls to her incessantly and near endlessly, distracting her and making it difficult to sleep. Hallucinations follow and she begins to question her own judgement and actions. As dark forces start making their moves across Arnor and Isyaria, a severely sleep-deprived Felitïa begins to fear she may be losing her mind.

Book Three: Slay

Felitïa has partially broken through her block, but now finds herself flooded with powers she can’t yet control. Although she has guidance from Mikranasta, it is going to take time to learn that control—time she might not have. As prophesied inThe Foretellings of Eleuia, the daemons have come for her, and they will destroy Quorge to get to her.

Meanwhile, Rudiger is a prisoner in the Royal Palace outside Arnor City, where Lidda Plavin is determined to learn the secrets of his sword, Slay. She believes it to be the legendary sword, Daemonslayer, but according to all other sources, Daemonslayer is guarded by a group of monks in Singea. Rudiger’s sword must be one of a number of decoy swords, yet there’s no denying Rudiger’s sword has power. The only way to determine the truth is to travel to Singea and compare the swords, but both swords pass every test meant to distinguish the real Daemonslayer from the decoys. This leads the monks to a conclusion they admit is utterly impossible, but must be true nonetheless. However, Rudiger is less accepting of the monks’ conclusion and believes there must be something else going on, After all, the two swords can’t both be thesamesword, can they?

Each of the characters is unique and deeply drawn. There is epic purpose and while the route to that purpose is long, the promises for its fulfillment run deep in a very good way.
I'm invested in reading each chapter. I can feel where the overall story arc is heading and I want to let this author take me there in their own lovely way.
There is the princess turned waif, sure, but its well done and she still thinks like both and neither, experiencing the powerlessness that royalty needs for depth of character. I love the too powerful and yet limited because by experiencing those limitations, she must rely on characters who follow from a deep cosmic connection with her And her own efforts to be worthy of them following her.
There are very few grammar issues but they are likely missed unless you're sensitive to them and the author responds kindly and quickly to respectful suggestions.
Truly a good epic read.  I, personally, have to be in the right mood to read epics in general, but when I have a good chunk of time, this is the book I turn to because I know there is a clear destination that won't let me down.

Mostly leaving this here to remind myself to come back later and leave an advanced review. At first glance, we've got a slower paced story about a runaway *noble* girl turned street urchin wanting to learn magic. I'd go into more detail, but that'd be spoilers and we don't want that. The writing is impeccable, and the setting feels fleshed out. It doesn't blast you with a load of infodumping, and the lore that is given is done in a tactful manner.
My only critique is the length of the chapters. It wouldn't be out of place in a paperback, but as far as online-posted books go it's pretty hefty, clocking in at just under 14k words for chap 1. Not really a critique to be honest, but that's what I've got, and something to bear in mind.
It's super promising and I look forward to reading more. Keep up the good work!

CotV is pretty unusual fare at RR, and probably flies under the radar because of that.  Don't be fooled though: it's a rewarding, intricate and professionally written novel that just happens to be posted to a site specializing in serial stories.
It tells the story of Felitia, a runaway princess who wants to pursue a life as a mage rather than being part of royalty. As the story develops, it becomes clear that much deeper conspiracies than those surrounding a single runaway princess are afoot, and that Felitia must help in uncovering them and solving intrigues that span multiple sometimes hostile societies.  She must find allies and build relationships and trust among an ensemble of characters who might otherwise be at odds with each other to solve the mysteries and dangers that face them all.
Style.  It's more of a novel than a serial fiction.  Large parts focus on Felitia, but there are frequent perspective shifts to others in the character ensemble.  The underlying plot is gradually made clear as the perspectives are woven together.  Readers are definitely not spoon fed a single linear narrative.
Story.  The story spans at least a decade and several nations, and gradually reveals mysterious plots and intrigues that span both time and nations and ultimately appear linked to ancient prophecies.  If there is a weakness to the story, it probably comes from focusing too much on keeping the narrative moving to avoid having the tale bog down in political maneuvering, lore, and world building.  This has the effect of sometimes forcing the plot rather than letting it be revealed more organically by characters and their actions.  Not a big deal, but perhaps something where there is room for improvement.
There's plenty of adventure, battle, and mystery solving throughout to keep readers immersed.  The story doesn't shy away from death of important and sympathetic side characters, so be forewarned.
    Grammar.  Excellent and polished throughout.
    Characters.  The best part.  Feli

I was going to wait to review this until I was done but I think my review will actually be most helpful now.
With a name like "Will Breaker", the synopsis, and the fact that you are on Royal Road... you might be led to think this is another generic power fantasy. If you go in looking for a quick powerup YA novel about someone breaking peoples wills, you will be massively disappointed.
This is a companion quest centered around a prophesy. It has interesting characters but does manage to spend most of its time on Felicia. I think if you understand that going in, the story will be more enjoyable.
My biggest caveat is that the story is slow. Not "slow burn" but actually on the far end of how long I expect stories to take before they start to reveal information. Im almost 60 chapters in and I feel like we have very little information on mysteries that have been teased since the very start.
I havn't seen many mistakes in grammar but I do think the writing starts out a little stronger in the first few chapters.
I'm enjoying the novel still. Thumbs up for now.

Pretty good novel, the world building gets by on using a generic fantasy world with clearly explained and marked deviations from the norm.
The first few Characters are fleshed out well early on in the story and are generally well written to stay in line with their intial appearance and on-screen growth.
The problem with this story is that there are way too many characters. Not just side characters but main characters. After about Chapter 40 I can't remember half these people. It gets even worse then the POV appears to shift at random without reason or explicit demarcation.
Since the author has failed to include the "multiple lead characters tag" which I would normally use to filter this out, I am leaving this review. If you're fine with ~7 main chaamracters, this is a solid 4.5 stars. If not, move on.
