The Wild Touch

Description
The world of Delmathar has many conflicts and plots that span over the whole world and even into the war torn oceans. That’s not even taking into account that the world is a candidate in the Realm wars… but that’s a story for another day.
Instead we will follow the story of how a goddess’s botched attempt of using a weak earth soul to make powerful Grafter for her mother, ends up empowering an unsuspecting little boy.
The boy who is called Nosal Brownwhisker, who happens to be a peaceful little buttonless-shirt loving little Capyban.
And as the Brownwhisker family tries to juggle their everyday lives on their monster ranch and hiding little Nosal’s secret, more and more developments keep popping up in the village of Pancreedy that makes life more.. interesting.
Author’s notes:This is my first fiction and I understand it will suck. Hopefully you will find it to be enjoyable enough to hang around. There’s not going to be any epic world-ending fights or any stuff like that, just some shenanigans generally with the story progressing very slowly as it changes from many viewpoints.
The world of Delmathar may seem funky for now so I will promise a glossary every 15 chapters.
The wild touch will be updated at least twice a week, with me having no backlog of chapters. So if I get mobbed at work or get sick I will let you know in my notes on a short chapter.
I hope you enjoy, and thank you for the people who support me, give me encouragement and pointers.

- D.M. Rhodes (Razzmatazz)Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Okay. So. Where do I start? How?
Unique. Unique is the word I would use to describe this story after having read all of the available chapters, as of this post (7). The story follows a young Capyban boy named Nosal, who lives on a ranch with his father and brother. Though you would never have guessed this from the first chapter, which however, seems to be critical to the plotline of the story, as it seems to be connected to a sort of interdimensionality/reincarnation(?) but that hasn’t been explained yet. Early days! =)
The story itself is extremely wholesome and the vibe is very much ‚life on the ranch‘. The two brothers are very playful and certainly act like two teasing brothers would to another. The father is a stoic, large man who seems to care for his sons. But I wouldn’t call him bright. After a major plot event happens, that he explicitly tells his children not to talk about to anyone, he then leaves to go to town and… well, more or less tells three people himself. But his heart is in the right place.
There aren’t so many chapters yet, but they’re looooong. So I’d call it a fair deal honestly. The writing is coherent, if not a little stiff now and then, but I found nothing critically wrong anywhere grammatically. There is very little action as of yet, but it certainly feels like everything is coming to a disastrous boil-over soon enough.
Some gripes. The real-world references are just not my jam. There are waaay too many of them and they are far too specific for my tastes. I also got a bad taste in my mouth from, what I would describe as, mild ‚virtue-signaling’. From the very first chapter onward, the topics of the corona pandemic, masks, racism and even refugees are handled. And all of that within 7 chapters. That’s heavy stuff, guy, and it's a real jarring contrast to the (so-far) very wholesome story and it kind of pulls me back out a bit honestly.
The author is currently working on a glossary, which by god I need. Right from the start there is a huuuuge - DuskArcanistRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I'll keep this review relatively short. After reading through a few of the chapters, I can say that the author is rather ambitious in his scope of writing. This could pan out to be an amazing novel with the potential character and world building.
The setting of the main character reincarnating into a non-human animal (Capyban) isn't out of this world, however if done right it could be amazing. I'd suggest putting more emphasis on this, and structuring unique elements of life that only these creatures would take part in (Idk, like the psychology of a beaver and running water being it's nemesis and major stressor). Of course this may well already be written in further chapters (I've only read four chapters).
The elements of a game system have been integrated seemlessly into the story, might I add. The way the author has structure these character sheets really makes it easy to scan, and I'm certain there will be readers who want to keep track of exactly how these stats are progressing (Author, make sure to not screw up any of the values and keep them consistent)
Wow. This wasn't a short or conscise review at all. Overal, thumbs up. Only other things, chapters are very long. If that appeals to you, then this story will definitely be up your alley! - HyperAlphaKingRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5MC dies in the real world and gets reincarnated into a capybara man in a different world. Nosal retains some of his memories but they don't manifest as anything important, just the occasional reference joke. It's not my thing personally, but it might be yours. The story follows Nosel and his day to day struggles in his village alongside is family. The interactions he has with his father and brother are very well written and they do feel like a family.
I really like farming stories and I wish to see this element become developed more, perhaps it will as more chapters come along. There are some grammar oddities and spelling mistakes here and there, but they don't detract much. I look forward to seeing how this story progresses. - NickXenixRoyal Road★★★★ 4.012 chapters in, and I can enjoy this story without convincing myself that the MC won't suddenly become invincible then the mc becomes unstoppable in the next chapter.
Interesting story, finally an mc that isn't a dragon, human, or some overpowered elf, I'll read to see how well this can get, a little heavy on the grammar mistakes and typos, but I'm sure that the author will improve.
Soooooo...
ummmm...
ahem
This needs 200 words so I'm awkwardly here to prolong the review, guess you're stuck with me ;), just kidding, it should be 200 words already, I hope you enjoy this story like I do and I wish you the blessings of the stars and may you survive for long in this cold universe 😉
The writer bless the reader's soul.
To burn as bright and deep as coal.
The writer wish the later's mind.
It shall be light as feather's line.
The writer hope that you have good health.
For it's might and wealth rivals time itself.
I hope the MC doesn't get enslaved, though that would be a story for another time, it would take a darker turn, for the better or worse.
Writer Of Poems,
Signing out. - NecessityRoyal Road★★★ 2.5It's a very slow story. It's almost painfully slow but isn't that bad unless you get kicked off the rhythm. Which I did at chapter 15, there's this weird exposition dialogue between two God's which is bad for a number of reasons. That's compacted with a Glossary chapter that shouldn't really be there, it's basically just a wall of text to look up things if you forget, should really be moved to before chapter 1.
If you like slow stories, 3 days over 16 chapters, then with some improvements this could be a good story.
