Description

This is fanfiction of Panzer Dragoon Saga (1998) on Sega Saturn.Come here, Old SEGA fans! I completed this fanmade short story on 1st April 2023.

A half-century after the story of Panzer Dragoon Saga,Leeback Keygan runs a clinic in a poverty area in the Empire capital. He is not a physician but also an experienced explorer. Now he tells his unforgettable memory of his youth.

The boy felt uncomfortable with daily life and Imperial managerialism. The ancient ruins under the capital used to be his refuge. One day, he got lost in the tunnel.A young explorer helped Leeback, and this mysterious companion led him deep into the labyrinth instead of the exit...

I dedicated the story to Team Andromeda, Smile-bit, and Yu Godai.

This is a short 14 page fan-fiction about Panzer Dragoon. I have never played the games before, but I don't think you need to. The plot is very understandable, short and sweet. The style of the writing is unconventional for Royal Road. It's narrated by the protagonist of the story in terms of a flashback. Character names are also never spoken until the very last chapter of the story. The story centers around two main characters roaming around underground while while having conversations with each other. Honestly very well done and different compared to most of the stories on RR.
The grammar and writing is basically perfect. Not much prose in the story itself, but considering that this was written by someone who has English has a second language it's honestly pretty impressive. No punctuation or typo's that I noticed while reading. In terms of the characters and story, I think this short story does a very good job for only being 14 pages long. I was able to read it in less than 20 minutes, but it still left a very distinct impression on me. I think this short story is something worth reading if you want a well written quick read compared to some of the larger stories on Royal Road.
