    ★★★ 2.5
The three Companions tells the tale of three ex-delinquents as they start high school and their past catches up to them.
    Style 2/5
The story feels more like reading a manga than a light novel. As a result, descriptions are sparse which makes it difficult to visualize the setting, and the ration between show and tell skews towards tell. Instead of a book, the story reads more like a script. That being said, the style does improve considerably in the third chapter. It is also sometimes difficult to make out who is talking.
    Grammar 2/5
There are many grammar issues, from a constant switch of tenses to several incomplete sentences being put together. Though the third chapter shows a drastic improvement on that front.
    Story 3/5
If you have watched or read any delinquent/fighting school manga/anime, you will be familiar with the setting. Fans of the genre will certainly have no problem here either. It is still at the beginning, which makes it difficult to judge the story but one aspect that I really have to praise is how everything seems to be connected. Every character has a past that is connected to other characters, creating an intriguing web of relationships and stories.
    Characters 2,5/5
The characters so far are your standard delinquent/high-school anime stereotypes. But so far, that is fine. The story is still just starting and the characters can develop in unique ways. Though the casual sexism that is prevalent with the male character can be off-putting.
    Final verdict
The story in its beginning phase, and there is potential for sure. But the first two chapters need editing.
