Description

This is a story about the origins of adventuring and the tale of how the term 'hero' was first coined.

Hey guys and gals! This is my first real story so I'm thankful for any and all criticism as long as it stays polite.Throughout the story I will use a lot of my own illustrations as a visual anchor. I think these suit the genre very well and give a some satisfaction to the reader while being a little more tangible than the usual stats. (I'd be glad to hear if you are enjoying them.)

I also do commissions so if you are liking my work and want some for yourself then feel free to message me and we can go from there. As a general rule of thumb, I take about 8 Euros per hour of work and need about 3 hours on small projects (like the ones you see in my work) so be prepared to pay around 24 Euros if that is all you need. If you are interested in a collection of works or a larger piece then I am willing to offer discounts depending on the project. I will also reduce the price if you allow me to publish the piece. (These offers are subject to change but I will be sure to inform you then if I decide to change them.)

    ... it was pretty good.
Since this review is being made after the release of the 1st chapter it will be very shallow and will have a lot of guesses for the rest of the story.
Overall the fact that action is shown quite early makes this 'story' stand out. Most other stories on RRl are slow at the start; which isn't a bad thing by any means. At first, I thought this story would be reminiscent of God of War(2018) with the repetition of the word 'boy' in the first half of the chapter, but as interesting as that concept is I personally don't think it will happen.
The characterization also needs to be addressed: it's really good. The contrast of the "Father" figure and Trifinn signifies the age of both characters and their roles in the story. Trifinn in this story sounds like a disciplined kid but can't help himself, probably, due to his age.
I have a lot of hope for this story due to its unique aspects. What I mean are the illustrations; they are very beautiful and descriptive of the object it shows. I can't wait for more chapters and more pictures.
*The reason why I even bothered with this story in the first place was that of the 'Grimdark' tag.
