    You really nailed the mythic tone, invoking the likes of Gilgamesh and Enkidu. The prose is simple but evocative. I did find the ending a bit abrupt, and I'd appreciate a little more detail than
    "and then he was a good king, the end."
    Still, this is a minor complaint. I hope you win the contest! Thanks for the story.
