- chikiwilsonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is just getting started so I may change this in the future, but, so far it is intriguing and the characters are both interesting. It does have multiple POVs but only between the two main characters so far, so it's not that big of an issue. It doesnt jump around all the time and become confusing. It also updates regularly which in my opinion is a major factor to whether or not I read a story (at least twice a week). Currently, new chapters have been released every day ,however, that might just be because it's a new story.
The style of the author is also very clean and easy to read. I get a good sense of what the characters are feeling and seeing. The grammar and spelling seem pretty good (at least I haven't noticed anything other than the odd mistype of a word). Both the characters seem to compliment each other from the little we have seen of them. They also appear to be unique and fleshed out. The story so far hasn't progressed very far at all so I'm not going to make any judgments however I'm guessing since this is a cultivation story it will focus at least partially on the growth of the characters.
Over all I'm looking forward to how the story continues, keep up the good work :) - azorath1234Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I would say this has quite a bit of potential. It takes the question of innate talent and somewhat throws it on it's head. Sure, the main character has innate talent, but in intent rather than cultivation speed. It makes things fresh. I won't go into too many more details, but I have enjoyed it so far immensely.
- luda305Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I like this xianxia a fair bit. It's mellow, but serious and somewhat realistic.
I suppose the one thing that could be an issue for prospective readers is the pacing. The first 20 chapters or so kind of breeze forward really fast through the first six months or so of training. I think it works, but there are plenty who would have preferred it to slow down.
On top of that, starting in chapter 22, we have an arc where the protagonist gets put into a group of other students at the sect. They generally don't do much, other than to tour the various areas of the sect and get up to some mild shenanigans. This is a fine arc, but the problem is that it lasts until chapter 53, and only spans something like a week in-universe. It's both very slow on an absolute scale and very slow relative to the rest of the pace of the story.
On top of that, the next mini arc which is three chapters is the protagonist watching but not participating in a contest.
Also, the boy protagonist is clearly the sword. But both the synopsis and the title hint to a butterfly as well. But we (the audience) have not seen hide nor hair of the the girl (potential) protagonist since chapter 4 until 57;; - GhebRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5No outstanding mistakes to the frail eyes of myself, I am sure some snobbish English major will demand a word to be hyphonated or something but it all seems good to me. I am a little wary of the fact that it is shaping up to be a story told from multiple pov (not something I personally enjoy) but the story seems intriguing so I am looking forward to see it continued! Keep up the good work!
