The Steadfast company

On the night of the Good goddess, a thieving crew steals a treasure and then retire with bottles of wine in hand to fill their bellies. However, their fortunes quickly turn when a group om men seeks to reclaim what was taken from them. A group without mercy for thieving gutter trash.

Meanwhile, the Steadfast Company finds itself decimated, a force reduced to a few score mercenaries seeking work from a local duke. Facing bankruptcy, they take on a dangerous mission: finding new land for the duke's refugee-filled slums. To succeed, they must keep their swords sharp and their wits sharper still. Why with all this would someone decide to make their task more difficult?

Follow Sparrow as he leaves the slums behind to explore the world.This is my first complete work as an  enthusiastic amateur writer, and I hope that you will enjoy reading my story as much as I did writing it. The first chapter was a spur of the moment thing during my paternity leave, late one night as my baby refused to go to sleep I put pen to paper, and from there on it took shape in spurts. Originally, I mostly wrote on long walks with the stroller and later, when I began working once more, I wrote on my commute. As I'm writing this, over a year has passed since I set those first words down. In this year I have learned a lot  as well as tried my hands at writing other stories, however I always end up back here where it all began. That ever-present desire to finish what I have started gnawing at the back of my head.
