The author succeeds in creating an intriguing plot that hooks the reader’s attention and curiosity. The story begins with a mundane scene of Siarl attending a boring chemistry class, but soon reveals his extraordinary situation and his discovery of the simulator. The author uses suspense, mystery, and foreshadowing to create tension and anticipation for what will happen next. The author also introduces some questions that will drive the story forward, such as: What is the origin and function of the simulator? Who is watching Siarl? What are the consequences of simulating supernatural beings?
The introduction of the protagonist, the setting, and the main conflict of the story is well done. The author uses a third-person omniscient narration style that switches between Siarl’s perspective and an external observer’s perspective. This is an interesting writing style that allows the reader to see different aspects of the story. However, the author also fails to make Siarl a relatable or sympathetic character. Siarl is portrayed as a nerdy, anti-social, and paranoid person who has no friends or hobbies. He does not show any emotions or personality traits that would make him interesting or likable. He seems to be only interested in the simulator and its possibilities.
Therefore, I have a mixed opinion of this web story. On one hand, I appreciate the author’s creativity and originality in creating a science fiction scenario that combines transmigration, parallel worlds, and simulation. On the other hand, I think the author needs to work on character development and make Siarl more human and realistic. I would recommend this web story to readers who are interested in science fiction and fantasy genres, but I would also advise them to be patient and hope that the author will improve the characterization in the future chapters.
