- FremdaRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I found the story very readable. Currently its most uniquely jarring feature to me is its larger narrative scheme, and the author is intent on a rewrite, so I think that's up in the air right now. I found its other features adequate or dissatisfactory in more common ways. There are some persistent mechanical quirks that I don't think are intentional, but little that I found too distracting. I think the prose has been considered to a much greater extent than is common for Royal Road.
As far as whether you should give it a try, I think you should if you like conventional fantasy. I think it's doing at least one deeply unusual thing for its genre or for any fiction, which warrants my affection
