- BekaBooksRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really appreciate the word choice and the overall plot. I can see the effort and care put into this book. My biggest criticism would be the way the story is formatted and the sentence flow and overall flow of the story. I enjoyed the characters but believe they can be more individualistic in the way they react to certain situations and why. For now, the characters are a bit hard to emphasize- I think it would be great to read about how certain characters interact with the environment more in-depth for some more world-building. Why does the world function the way it does and how did it get there? Why should we care for these characters and the path they decide to go down? It would be really neat if you can think of ways to write in which a way that makes the reader feel conflicted by the choices and what the characters went through and choose. For example - Celeste seems very easy going into choosing to help the new shadow king, I wanna see the angst- more care for her daughter, perhaps even a story that can dive deep into her and her daughter's relationship- one which shows their character and bond. Overall I enjoy the plot and I hope to read more and dive deeper into the world.
