Description

The Pure Crown, Law, and Heartsflame. The crown, the sword, and the dagger. These are the three weapons The Sevens Prophets were gifted in order to unite the seven planets in harmony. Those blessed by the Pure Crown are diplomats, with powers of shielding, telekinesis, and teleporting. Those blessed by Law are defenders, with powers of healing, non-lethal energy blasts, and strength. Those blessed by Heartsflame are wielders of death, with powers to drain energy, shoot lethal energy blasts, and use weapons that can kill instantly. While the Prophets are not always welcome on the seven planets, they are always needed. These are the tales of their deeds.

Not many stories will grip you on the first chapter. This is one of them. It really drew me in. I stopped reading it a couple of months ago (more about that later) and I am still thinking about the characters I got to know. They are complex and believable. They are set in a world I find very interesting. The grammar and language is great. This would seem to be a perfect match for me. My only problem is the way the story is set up.
I think the main MC (I know, doesn't make any sense:P) is a prince that gets his horizons expanded by a storyteller that suspiciously knows way too much for a normal storyteller. Every story has new "secondary" MC's in a new location and time. All the stories so far contains the Sevens Prophets. But in effect, you get 1-3 chapters of the prince, and then you get 7-10 chapters about a new MC soon will disappear. The stories are really really good. But they are short. It's like reading a collection of short stories. If this is your thing, go for it! For me, it was a bit hard to invest so much in the stories only for it to suddenly be over, get some interlude with the prince before doing it all again.
I want to dig into the stories of Jasper or Chance and Corrin. Not to scratch the surface of something great again and again.
I will for sure be following the author and I am looking forward to trying the other two fictions DavidHammons already has on this site.
