- EmpireofTrustRoyal Road★★★ 3.0There is an interesting Feng shui hero story here, made almost entirely up of quotes directly from the scriptures.
Direct quotes made into English loses some of the cultural depth and understanding of lucky numbers, bad symbols and troublesome flows of energies that would make this story pop.
I have only a scant overview from when I had an ex who believed in the power of crystals but could see the shape of the frankly interesting story with a deep history behind its beliefs and practices.
The story itself of a disowned son feng shui naive adept getting in too deep is promising but buried in quotes which are easy enough for people of the same culture but for Westerners not obvious enough to make reading the story flowing.
Like expecting Asian people to understand who coyote is in Indian lore, about the trail of tears, pemmican or counting coup.
