Soward's mansion was once a beautiful, historic example of Victorian architecture, but time has an ironic sense of humor. It's now an eyesore and magnet for crime and vagabonds. I know I'm not the ideal person to restore her, but this is an opportunity to do one last great deed for my town before time finds it funny to ruin me too. What's the worst that could happen?

The premise of the ficiton is quite simple and it will be good quality writing that carries you past the first few chapters rather than action or immediate mysteries.
There is nice detail about the work that the MC is doing but I find myself hoping for more - Maybe descriptions of the layout of the house or specific could be added to pad out some of the time gaps/ work flash forwards.
The MC's character is established well but a lot of that comes from their own thoughts rather than interactions with people. This stands out to me as a plot gap (or maybe its intentional?).
Given the MC's self shown personality and frequent mentioning of acquaintances, why in this town where they have lived their whole life do they only recognise/ know one person from before the fiction? Why has no one come to visit them?
Lot's of potential and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
