Description

In all our history Humanity has made stories that can only be described as fiction; wizards throwing fireballs, swordsmen slicing mountains apart, space explorers facillitating peace between galaxy-spanning empires, men and women standing against an unbreakable tide and winning. We know these stories to be false, written for our enjoyment and inspiration, but they don't. The Wardens of Life, that's how it translates to our language, have fought a losing war against a species of alien they call Scourge. The Wardens found our world, found our stories, and rejoiced; on this planet resided a species of sword-slashing, gun-toting, fire-flinging warriors. A species that rejoiced in our history and was the answer to all of their desperate hopes. Now we have to try not to disappoint their hopes.

This is a HFY story where aliens in a hopeless war manage to get their hands on a piece of the internet. They only really focused on the part of the internet where all the HFY stories were located and believed humanity to be their silver bullet to the war.
Now that I've got that short summary out of the way let's talk story. The story has little to zero spelling errors and it's a good read if you enjoy HFY stories. One issue I noticed was that the author is very sparse on details. They might do that on purpose to avoid lore dumping but the story suffers a little bit because we get almost no details. This extends to the next issue, worldbuilding is on the verge of being nonexistent. Hopefully, that gets fixed later in the story.

The story is decent for the most part, lacks descriptions but grammar and spelling are good. The main issue is the completely unsatisfying ending that only wraps up a secondary plot point and leaving all others unresolved. If there was a note about there being a second book i could understand and forgive the ending but doesn't look like it's even a possibility. I really wanted to like it but did so less as the story went on.
