Where there is a Rune, there is a way!

Nate is a kid from Sydney, Australia who spends his free time indulging in his one true love - art. Graffiti specifically. That is until his 'hobby' catapults him into a new world filled with danger and magic.

Finding himself alone in a forest that is clearly not on Earth, he must learn to navigate this new world and more importantly, the System that governs it. Armed with nothing but his trusty penknife and a Legendary Class, Nate will fend for his life. He'll conquer dungeons, discover runes and be drawn into battles against enemies he didn't even know he had, all while making new friends along the way. Torn between returning to his old life and the friends he left behind, or making a new home in this world filled with magic, he will have to decide where his heart truly lies. No matter what he chooses he'll leave his mark - and hopefully - a little art.

So far this is a wonderful story. No spoilers below.
I will start with the constructive criticism. First, the beginning’s pacing is pretty slow. It feels a bit like writing oneself into a corner with the way the story begins up until the MC finally meets another person in their new world. Second, I feel a bit too much time is taken explaining motivations repeatedly throughout the story, but only a bit. Third and finally, sometimes thought processes, explanations, descriptions get a little wordy. Not in the sense of story density, but in the sense of narrative voice. There’s a few too many times extra little phrases get added into sentences that don’t add anything to what’s being told. While I think that’s the author’s attempt to inject personality into the story, sometimes to comes off as busy. Overall, none of this distracts from the story in my opinion.
Now things I like: (1) MC is an artist and takes their craft seriously. And for all the characters, their motivations are consistent and not dropped at the first sign the plot needs armor. (2) I love to hate some of the characters and learn to like some of them as they develop. (3) The MC acts like a real person would in their situation, especially in the beginning, even if I think it’s a little slow. It gives a sense of realism, if that can even be called a thing in a Progression LitRPG. (4) I’m a stats nerd and I live for all the stats, abilities, classes, and progression this story throws at the reader. One small detail I wish was explained better is what each stat contributes to oneself. The stats the MC utilizes are decently explained, but a bit more of a comprehensive description for all would be nice. (5) The abilities themselves need their own call out here. They are varied and unique, powerful but not world-shattering. And their descriptions are, while wordy, flavorful.
I very much look forward to this story’s continuation and hope the author releases similar works in the future (without neglecting this on

This story is really creative on how the author changes from a modern graffiti to a fantasy role. I was worried with Frick as I thought of the choice of the race was bit disappointing  howeverp he has grown on me. I am enjoying where this is going and excited for new chapters

it is a very nice premise and I have enjoyed the book thus far. The character of the MC reminds of the love a friend of mine has for art, so yeah i liked the book immediately, and add in a LITRPG motif and you have me.
Thanks for writing. until the next one.

The world Nate has accidentally teleported into is very interesting. There's a lot of potential to be explored in a massive multiverse where a Mana-less Earth co-exists with fantastical magical beings. The possibilities really get my imagination running .
It's also fun to read how the characters interact, influence and discover things about the world around them. The capabilities of different builds and how their strengths and weaknesses compare to others is also really interesting, even if it hasn't yet been shown very clearly due to the story still being in its infancy.

There is so much artistry woven into Nate's abilities that reading his adventures pulls you in almost like a black hole. I’ve always loved portrayals of artists as people with a natural affinity for magic, so this story hit a sweet spot for me. The way Nate progresses—from physically “painting” his spells, to grasping the very nature of reality and forcing life to imitate art and art to mirror life—is one of the most compelling progression arcs I’ve ever read.
I don’t always agree with Nate’s choices, but they feel authentically his, and the outcomes usually make suspending disbelief well worth it. He starts out a bit whiny and way out of his depth, but with each passing day in this unfamiliar universe, he gains composure, power, and a voice strong enough to rival both his adversaries and the companions who journey with him.
Kiri and Frick are phenomenal, and I will die on this hill defending them to my last days.
The author has crafted an intricate, fascinating world that rewards every second you spend inside it. Its sheer scope feels comparable only to the multiverses of Magic: The Gathering. I absolutely love it.
If you are still wondering if you should read it, do yourself a favor and stop wondering—and start to wander with Nate.

A pleasant read. I almost dropped it around chapter twenty because of the MC, but my wife insisted the story was great, and boy, was she right!
After the initial slag, which I hope the author will fix with an editor for the published version, the story develops quite nicely.
Style - no complaints, no random time hopping, and while the author seemed afraid of it, chapters written from other characters' perspective are just as enjoyable as the main ones.
Story - After the mentioned problems, it's fun in a box.
Grammar - Decent, nothing an editor can't fix with a single run through the MS.
Characters - The MC is bland, annoying at times. He has pointless rants about how hard life is, how nobody loved him, or how people bullied him, and then thinks of all the nice things he has left behind, like a pet cactus. Nothing tethers him to Earth, and yet. Fortunately, this also disappears later down the line, and the story is more important than the protagonists questionable moral compass.
All in all, check it out. It's worth your time.
    Damn 200 words...
    We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I (do I)
    A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
    Gotta make you understand
    Never gonna give you up
    Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
    Never gonna make you cry
    Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you

For the thirty first chapters of the story, while it was a good one with interesting concepts the presence of the MC familiar, in the shape of a goblin and with an awful personality, meant I rated this story only 2 stars. The familair is a true detriment to the story and enjoyment of the reader, but if you can force your way through his presence, the story is enjoyable.
But the character development of both the MC and his annoying familiar over the story meant that my original reviews wasn't valid anymore.

    Physics is a thing.
Magic works in the physical world with logical rules.
    Characters you can beleive in.
Most importantly a progression story that you could almost think was possible.
Well written language, spelling and grammar.
And above all : a story that grips you.
The only thing lacking to make this a true pageturner is more chapters, so 'chop chop!' - get writing!

I read through the first four books on kindle before hunting it down here, and it was pretty good. I'll not comment on the fmc, because there are plenty of complaints about her already. Instead, I would bring up a different complaint: the MC doesn't develop as much as he can/should. By four books in, he should be pragmatic enough to realize that he can't avoid fighting if he wants to live comfortably, and he should be more capable of applying his artistic creativity to combat. I was expecting things like him painting attacks out existence, or building a space/gravity powered rail gun, or using concepts of fate or probability to paint what is going to happen in the battle before it even starts. But instead he just feels like a mixture of artificer and mage who can't remember all his attacking options, and who also has a hobby of painting. Which I still think is pretty dang good, but it could have been great instead, and that missed potential is a little disappointing. Hopefully he either gets humbled sometime in the future and needs to fix these flaws, or he realizes it on his own and goes on a training arc.

Update: I got to chapter 126 before I just got tired of it all. The last chapter had promise with the mc getting an actual mentor who would show him new runes only for the first spoken dilogue in the next chapter to be "Go tell Britt that you want to try having sex while using a Gravity Rune" and I am done. Dropping the story. I wanted to like it. Really did. But sex being the secondary motivation for the 3 main characters is just not for me. I hope the next story the author does sticks to the adventure and not to sex. I'd give that a go. But for this one? Story isn't for me.
old review: I enjoy this story a lot. But I have one major gripe.
The amount of times the MC is pushed to go to a brothel, or the conversation goes to people's sex lives or how gay the MCs best friend is gets annoying. There is no tags stating that these topics would be brought up as often as they are. I read for the adventure and progression. So when every 4 or 5 chapters characters start talking about sex, about how many girls they fuck, or how they made girls realize they were gay because that's how Mary Sue romantic the mcs friend is. It gets a bit annoying.
When it first happened It was a 'oh okay. Worlds different. Character development for mcs friend. Nice' but instead of being a time to time thing it just keeps coming up any time the characters seem to have down time. I want to keep reading but if it keeps up like this I might drop it.
Not to say this story is bad. I just dont read stories for sexual themes. If I wanted that id go to AO3. Im here for fun adventures. Had the heavy sexual themes been tagged properly id probally not have started this.
That said this story shines in its fighting and crafting and actual progression. The sexual bits drag it down to being chapter skips for me.
