Before reading this book and much like some of the characters in the book, my only real knowledge of some of the dinosaurs came from watching the Jurassic Park movies. I came in blind and not knowing what to expect, and I was blown away with the amount of detail and description that is thrown into this book in regards to the dinosaurs. I have a lot more respect and fear for the giants now, and hope to god I never ever get thrown into this world, because I would not make it!
The interactions between the humans and the environment was so enthralling, but it was the human interactions with the other tribes is what was really the selling point for me. It was a perfect blend of chaos and hope, that had you sitting on the edge of your seat. I do hope to see more of the other mentioned individuals and tribes that are out there in the wild. I'd also love to see more internal conflicts within the tribe itself, and how the protagonists handles the stress within their own community.
If you enjoy the Hunger Games book series, The tv show Lost, and the video game Ark, then this is the book for you! I look forward to reading Book 2!
