I'm still very early in but very captivated.
You can see the foundation is there for a solid world to be built on, with very good use of advanced tech and characters who feel "real". The story really pulls you in to its world, you can almost smell it, taste it.
Really looking forward to reading more.

A riveting experience from start to finish especially considering this appears to be the author's first pubished chapters. I don't often pick things up and find myself enjoying them so naturally anymore and there were enough unique devices and concepts to make this feel fresh. I particularly enjoyed the narrative component of one particular less-than-organic lifeform and the protagonist is refreshingly nuanced too.

I've really enjoyed the story this far. I like the advanced tech, it is very reminiscent of Arthur C. Clark's 3rd law that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."
The base story is engaging and entertaining. The kid's braggadocio is a bit over the top, but it's entertaining and not too distracting.
I like how the author creates tech based explanations for things like the dead disappearing after a short time.
I think weaving in some more explanations of the tech and visuals/surroundings would improve the story.
Overall, I've enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

    OVERALL SCORE: 5/5 Stars
The Rings of Jupiter is a mesmerising blend of sci-fi, noir detective tale, and LitRPG. The story grabbed me from the start and took me on the journey with Razel Ibicas. He is a fallen gunslinger turned unlikely hero, driven by a need to undo his fuckups. It's a debut that impresses with its originality, seamlessly fusing gritty detective narratives with a rich sci-fi setting.
    STYLE SCORE: 5/5
The author's style is a remarkable fusion of economy and flair. It's clear this is a new voice in the genre (also because the author told me its their first story), but one that already shows exceptional promise. The narrative drives forward with a pace that kept me hooked, embodying the essence of classic noir tales while crafting a unique space adventure.
    STORY SCORE: 5/5
This narrative is a thrilling ride through a unique space station filled with magic, mystery, and high-stakes action. The author brilliantly layers a gunslinger's quest for redemption with the depth and intrigue of a sci-fi. The quest has been set up, and the journey is on!
    GRAMMAR SCORE: 5/5
The grammar is excellent. It's rare to find a first-time author with such a polished grasp of language. The writing is clean and sharp, allowing the story and characters to shine without any linguistic distractions.
    CHARACTER SCORE: 5/5
Razel Ibicas and the supporting cast are the heart of this story. They're wonderfully tropey in the best sense, with just enough backstory to intrigue, with promises of more to come. The Rings themselves feel like a living, breathing entity, each section a character in its own right, adding layers to the narrative.
    Summary:
The Rings of Jupiter is a compelling debut that promises to only get better. It's a story that respects its roots in noir and sci-fi while bringing something new to the table. So if anyone is on the fence about whether to jump in, go for it!

I don’t want to write a full blown essay on this novel, as it’s still early days and the story can take a lot of turns, but so far I can say with confidence that the writing is great! The sci fi elements are well placed, the power system in the novel makes sense with the augmented items, and the main cast so far have simply been a delight to follow.
In the first book we’ve seen our protagonist be thrown around all around the outer rings, always reacting and caught on the back-foot. Sometimes, he can play to his strengths and come out on top, sometimes… not so much. It adds to the gritty atmosphere the novel sets up, and provides a ton of character building for him, and for the supporting cast as well.
And don’t get me started on the world building, which has just the right amount of useful exposition and throw away lines mentioning some deeper lore that you never feel overburdened or confused, just very excited to learn more!
I’m so happy I clicked on the ad for the story and found this gem, and I’m sure it will reach the popularity it deserves!

I'm only at the beginning, but completely captivated. The groundwork is meticulously laid for a vibrant world, populated by proper, lifelike characters. The narrative masterfully draws you in, engaging every sense, evoking vivid imagery. I'm eagerly anticipating diving deeper into this captivating, immersive story that seems to weave its magic through every word, leaving an indelible mark on my imagination.

The characters are nuanced, varied, and believable. Dialogue flows naturally and is well leveraged for fleshing out vital aspects of the story. The plot is engaging, easy to follow, and well paced, while the setting flirts with Clarke's third law, with just enough explained to leave you wanting more.
I look forward to reading book two!

Hinting at thrilling dimensions yet to be explored. I'm left with an indelible impression of a realm waiting to be unraveled. Vivid descriptions entwine with the enigmatic charm of the central character, creating a harmonious resonance that resonated with me.
With the foundation thus established, "A Hob in Need" becomes more than a mere chapter; it is a portal to wonder. A tantalizing taste of things to come, it stirs the reader's appetite for the unfolding narrative. As the dawn of an epic adventure breaks I'm left curious to see where this adventure ends.

I enjoyed the story so far, my favourite aspect being the characters, as the author seems to be great at character interaction especially between the main character and Arun.
The world building is good with aspects being integrated naturally through character dialogue but the Lit RPG aspect is neutral as it doesn't add or take away from the story, it conveys what the MC needs to do through quests but is an aspect that could be conveyed through regular writing without loosing too much.
The writing and dialogue flow well and I did not not notice any faults in grammar.
Overall I would recommend this story and am excited to see where it goes.

This story is amazing and definitely deserves a read. The only reason this story hasn't earned 5 stars is because there isn't enough! The characters are interesting and its awesome to see the main character start to build a ragtag party to work off a quest and the mystery of some of the backstory is wonderful. I can't wait for more and it makes me want to keep writing.
