The protagonist makes mistakes and often makes wrong choices. From my experience, retaking a class doesn’t guarantee an A+. Likewise, the protagonist was simply lucky to get a second chance, and he is nothing more than a person who wants to become a hero through that opportunity. The kind of hero we dreamed of as kids but now see as someone who only steps forward to take losses and become a laughingstock.
