UPDATE 05/04/2025: Sorry I was on Hiatus for a long while. I started another project and was giving it some time, and also started a new school program. Sage to say, I've been busy, but soon I'll return to continue my toasty elf's journey. Thanks for reading while i was away.
COVER ART by ThatArtJack. Support real artists.
A warm home, a supportive community and loving parents; Carmine’s small world revolved around these few comforts. Far from the Capitol’s magic and technology, the people of Rieland relied on each other to make their way in life.
That ended in a storm of fear that left Carmine’s world in ashes.
All alone, she must decide how to pick up the pieces and live as best she can, or reject the fate she was given.
New Chapters released the first weekend of every month.

- RoyalcogarkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am full glad to see you posting your work, and I am looking forward to reading more as the story goes on. The story of Carmine growing into her own woman is going to be a great story, and I have loved every bit of what I've read thus far. Please, keep up the good work.
- BedwigRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0So far, the grammar is pretty good, though the dialouge sometimes doesn't match the tone. ex) "What are we doing," said xxx. Another example is: I wonder how did this happen, xxx thought.
There should be a question mark instead of a comma.
Another grammar mistake is that the author sometimes forgets to capitalize the 'i's. That mistake is pretty rare.
The worldbuilding is interesting. So far, there haven't been that much worldbuilding, but there are tidbits here and there about the wider world. There's only been 14 chapters on writing this review, so it makes sense.
The style is nice. Nothing much to say about it.
The characters have distinct personalities. Some of ther characters introduced early on in the story have some depth to them. Not much, but there's promise.
One thing I have against the characters so far, though, is that when they talk about the pleasure district, the adult blushes. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like that's sort of breaking character.
Overall, this story show promise.
