The Rats Below

Out of many, one

Life isn't easy as a rat. Constantly fearing for the humans above, takes a toll a rat's health. Then there are the fellow rats. Like the idiomatic expression goes, there is no honor among thieves. To survive as a rat takes luck and determination, to lose will is to die. There may be good food above, but there's a catch: it's poisoned. There is no such thing as a "free" lunch unless you're human, then yes, free food for you. What we rats get are the wastage that the humans are so fond of throwing away.
