- jey114Royal Road★★★ 3.0There are comedic scenes to the story, which were genuinely entertaining. However, the manner in which the characters and geopolitics are presented were seriously immersion breaking. The main lead (and on occasion other characters) speak as if they were a product of the 21st century instead of a pseudo-medieval era. The description of politics is furthermore confusing, using titles such as 'King' and 'Crown Prince' for countries which at best appear to have the population of city states. Furthermore, there are events which occur randomly without reason, that stretch the limits of credibility.
Main lead and love interest get kidnapped during a ball they themselves are hosting.
I am without doubt that this could become a much better story. It however needs a lot more work to get there.
