I read the story on reddit already up to Book 2 Chapter 11. In total thats 55 Chapters.
It’s great. If the author does not go out of their way to ruin this story it will remain great. In fact I will still go back to the Reddit chapters just to upvote them when they come out.
The characters are well written with good motivations, the story flows well and each chapter leaves you waiting for more. Even be it just to watch the reactions to the insanity that is Nadine’s mere existance.

FINALLY a book that shows the true might of humans. Humans r the superior species and all others should fear our might. We r the apex predators.  /("0")/ Pray for mercy from ur gods for humans shall show u none....
    Anyways...
    (pro human fanatics aside)...
(=_=) yeah good book. World building, character development, grammar all up to par. One of the best sifi books that I've read. Good read.

And this is one of them.
I'm really hoping this story has a planned end in the not so distant future, so I don't ultimately have to give it the boot unfinished, but either way, for now, it's one hell of a ride.
The premise that all the aliens are made out of tissue paper feels a bit improbable, but I can at least justify it in my head as them all only looking for solar systems with planets like theirs (i.e. low gravity), so the "high gravity" races (like humans) and them just completely bypass each other.
There is good character work in here, and all the main characters are a delight.  Plus, from a HFY perspective you get a sober, but sympathetic view of our species, which I think is where the genre excels.
Anyway, it's a great read.  I'm somewhat both saddened and relieved by it only having as much content as it does... because I needed to go to bed five hours ago, lmao.

Great series, love the general story idea of human meet alien op story without the typical "military academy bullying". Characters have great depth, good and funny dialogues and a good chunk of wonder about the worlds mysteries. Story has intersting story arcs and great love for details and problems in a slice-of-live human meets alien kinda style tied up in a nice overall story arc. The division into books is very fitting and the story has great world building expanding the horizon bit by bit to let us get to know the world. Sometimes the desciptions of certain szene details could be more desciptive but I guess that is a question of personal preference. Otherwise the story is well balanced between world building slice-of-life parts and main story progression. The characters are well built with each having their own quirks and relatable motivations. I can't think of any plot holes or non plausible character or story developments so all in all a welll built foundation.
I' on my third read through. I'm really sad it's on hiatous and hope it will be continued one day, would even pay for a print/ebook version, but I recommend reading anyway as the last chapter so far isn't too bad of a cliffhanger.

Originally read the first half on hfy and then lost it in the sights design. This is just as good as I remember it being. The characters are believable and well written with distinctive voices. The trauma is handled well if slightly light. And the world feels lived in.
One of the best longer running serials on that sight and glad to see it here in easier to read and follow format.
The only minor issue is if you are familiar with the tropes it's predictable at several crucial tense plot points, and it's a little fluffy on the science of biology. However those tropes also are staples of the genre and it would be like getting mad at fantasy for having elves.
Read this now no questions asked as a light scifi and enjoy!

My husband gave me the link to this story and I read through it in almost one sitting. (small break for dinner) I am thoroughly enjoying the characters and as someone who has C-PTSD, I appreciate the nuanced handling of trauma.
The only criticism I have is that the temporal jumps in the story back and forth are disruptive to the narrative flow and used too often. Like spices, a little goes a long way with that sort of device!
This is my first time on this site and I might need to look around if this is the quality of work posted here. I am sad this author only has one story, but heartened to know that this story will continue.

I have listen to the first book multiple times narrated on YouTube
And truly enjoyed the story And decided I didn't want to wait for it to be narrated and came here to read read the second book in the series and have not been disappointed so far. If you enjoy hfy,  lost in space, friends among the stars or death worlder genre you will most likely enjoy this book with decent world building character development and storytelling. My only problem with the book so far is the pacing of the story so far thus the 4.5 instead of 5.0.
Still worth the read in my opinion.

Enjoyed the premise and the world building.  I like the characters and the relatively slow build.  I'd like to learn more about the technology and history, and I can see hints being dropped that make me want to see more.  Apparently reviews have to be fifty words long, so I will add some more.
I like the fish out of water aspect, I like the imperfect technology, and I like that space is big.  These are all good story beats.  The main characters seem to be three dimensional and miss things and mess up, I struggle with that so this stands out for how well it works.  The characters aren't stupid, they just don't all think the same way.

The Princess and the Human is an odd mix of sci-fi alien biology drama, set with a backdrop of regency-era nobles politicking. I find it most enjoyable when it is in its fun, lighthearted mode rather than when it turns up the melodrama.
The primary flaw is that the human MC is a child that spends most of her dialogue sounding three times her age. If you can get past that, along with the occasional trip out into the weeds of biology, then it is a fun read.
