- gerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I love the idea of a litRPG comedy, and Vedo's doing it the right way. Expect punchlines, puns, and unexpected humour sprinkled throughout like hints of spice in a good meal.
On multiple occasions, the story flipped around in a direction I wasn't expecting, going from dramatic to comedic in mere moments. Also, the unexpected references to real-world culture gave me the impression of sharing inside jokes with the characters, well done! The choice of classes and abilities are innovative and intriguing, I'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve.
As the story is currently, there are some grammatical issues here and there, but these didn't limit my understanding of the story overall. Future edits will rectify this.
Thanks for the story Vedo, I'll be keeping track! - woseRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I preface all my litRPG reviews by saying that I am reviewing this on merit as a story rather than based on the genre as I am not into these types of stories.
With that out of the way, man was Prince and the Pug a fun read so far. The author has a solid grasp of comedic delivery and timing and has a concise and very enjoyable writing style that kept me going. Some of the more tragic and dramatic moments clashed with the funnier, carefree tone overall (see the prologue) but I could see that the author was aware of it as the story went on.
Also, GREAT grasp of story hooks. Italian chef's pinch and kiss and all that. Solid technique right there.
Overall, I would highly recommend this story even if the genre rubs me the wrong way. Great job!
