The Persephoni Log-Book 1 The Starguage Repentance

The Harikatani once lived on a planet called Esmera. As the planet neared the end of its lifespan they were blessed by the gods with startravel. They made their way from planet to planet trying to find an new home. After several unsuccessful attempts they find their way to E'arth. Here the princess of the Harikatani's grandfather takes over the council and decides to destroy the Huma inhabitants. Only a handful of Hari are opposed to harming the Huma. There is an initial invasion in which much of E'arth is subjugated to the Harikatani. The remaining Huma either hide in the wilderness or rebel in the shadows.

One boy is saved because of a strange birthmark on his left arm that looks like the Hari god Tula. He remembers very little of his life before the Hari and is raised by one of their scientists and his family. Noe struggles to understand his past as well as his future. He is interested in flying the Hari Jetwing's but many think Huma unable to learn such things. Every year there is a race called the Gauntlet where the best athletes of the Harikatani run across the continent the first  half of the race is on foot and the second in their Jetwing's. The clan whose athlete wins gets an extra appointment to the Stargauge council each year. This particular year is bringing to a head the tensions between Princess Heloani and her grandfather Alfron Sol as well as the rising discontent of the Huma remnant.
