Description

This story will no longer be updated.

After living decades and dying hundreds of times, Kegan has learned that he has finally passed some test that the cruel spirit had given him. Now, Kegan has the ability to gain “perks” that can make his life much easier. He is looking forward to finally having an easy life with the new perks he has earned.

Rules to keep me honest for the perk system:

I want to avoid one of the pitfalls I see for other LitRPG stories where the game elements barely relate to the story, or offer very little information. If people are skipping over and not reading the perks then I'm doing things wrong. So I promise to try and make the perks interesting, sometimes humorous, informative, and relevant to the story.Cover art by http://dertypaws.com/

I don’t normally write reviews, but I love this one so much that I want to offer the author whatever encouragement I can. I read tons of stories on this site and as stated this one is my absolute favorite. It  plays with my favorite themes that this community writes around and still manages to be a breathe of fresh air.
The installments are shorter and farther apart than I would like, but I look forward to every one of them. Take as much time as you need to keep up your originality and quality. I will be here.

I really like how the author is developing the life of the MC, i can't wait till the MC survive more than a year in one go, wonder if he'll visit a world were its a mix of sci-fi and fantasy, or roman legion is crawling through his valley, or if he'll act like the bad guy in a new life

Story so far is very good at chapter 6 the author is keeping to his promise of relevant plot points since every thing has a use. It's very good, the perk system is no overwhelming though it seems like it will be, author should find a way to handle that soon, and the conflict is very engaging too. You should read all those who enjoy engaging litrpgs.

Its well written. The description of combat is excellent. Finally, the side characthers seem relistic and the main characther is quite logical.
My personal issue with this story and why i cant give it full marks is the 'alien' nature of the main characther. He starts the story as an effective blank slate. A sentient being with no history beyond starting in his immortal enviornment motivated initially by a desire to survive and then later a sense of curiosity. This characther design is unique but personally a bit off putting. Due to his limited relatability . If you dont mind that though, i recommend giving it a read.

The grammar on the whole is decent, and the story is enjoyable. Its got the right kind of vibe, and enough of a premise to go far

According to my notes, I found the fic interesting but popcorn, and I was going to catch up on it when it hit chapter 50+.  The simplicity of the MC appealed to me.
I did enjoy what I read of it.  Unfortunately, it will never be updated, so I'm done here.  Thanks for sharing, author.

Starts strong--I loved the slow but steady power gain, many of which were focuses on "quality of life" benefits, which I always love in stories. For example, if the protagonist survives (or dies to) starvation, he might be able to pick a perk to let him survive longer without food, or gather slowly without eating.
The protagonist is essentially caught in a time loop, and every time he dies, he earns rewards and the ability to get just a little bit further.
Unfortunately, the story made me lose almost all interest at a certain point.
    You eventually find out that
    Spoiler: Spoiler
The protagonist is essentially in a virtual reality. He resets to a new world each time he dies, unless he finds a "save point" of some sort. I can't stand VR, as it adds another layer of unreality, and removes all tension or interest in a story for me, even if it doesn't have other tropes and characters from MMOs that I dislike.
On top of this, there is a (apparently very low) perk limit, and from we learn, it seems impossible to remove old perks to clear out space, without starting completely over, at least.
I think the author did this to stop power creep, but IMO it was a poor choice--the protagonist isn't all that impressive. He's a reasonably strong guy with some very weak magic.
If he could at least learn magic without using the perk system, maybe it would work, but it doesn't seem like that's possible either.
As is, the world resets every time he dies, which prevents any real overarching plot or drama. The power progression has also slowed to a crawl, and I just don't see where the story is going anymore.

Lacks tension and consistency. It hasn't realized that it's a story, not an RPG.
There's no cost to dying, so the MC will get stronger and proceed further which each respawn. Since the MC just goes back in time to a save point when he dies, nothing can threaten him or even any friends he might make. And then his spirit guide has no problems with decreasing the xp cost of perks. So the MC has unlimited respawns/time reversion, unlimited growth, and a godlike assistant that will adjust the whole system whenever it wants to make it even easier for the MC.
If there were an xp cost to rebirth which increased with higher stages, he'd risk dying for real if he didn't accomplish enough in a life. That would have made his high starting xp have a purpose, as he could afford to die numerous times after finishing the tutorial, before he understood the system. This could have been what sets him apart from other adventurers, who wouldn't have gathered enough xp to fluourish, or even make it, through the beginning. Instead, his decades in the tutorial accomplished nothing that a few months outside of it wouldn't have.
Conversations also need work. The writing's swift when describing what's happening, which is good for describing the battles and long stretches of time. But as soon as two characters start talking, punctuation, pauses, and reasonable thought disappear.

Becoming progressivly boring. Worldbuilding becoming sketchy, charcters dont look alive

The work is pretty average as far as rrl goes. definitely not deserving of being on the top works. made it to chapter 3 and couldnt go any further
story seems poorly thought out with no direction beyond surviving trials that come MC's way. also very nonsense.. in the first chapter he meets goblins, okay cool.  Then the goblins start eating everything including the dead, no description of what they're like, just that they enter a clearing and start eating.  Then they start pooping, no wait, they're giving birth.  Then they eat the babies too. ?? initially going to give this a three, now i'm taking it down to a 2.5 because as I write this out I think how poorly written this is
style. Author's writing style doesn't give us a good look at what's going on.  very superficial and even the superficial look is pretty poor.  chapter 1 and we're thrown into action already which is fine, but it doesn't really make any sense.
    Grammar.  is fine so far.
Character.  What character? I don't know any characters in the story.
