Okay, I’ll be honest—I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did. A LitRPG from the POV of a literal zombie? Sounds cool but also kinda weird, right? But The Path of an Undead pulls it off so well.
The story throws you right into the deep end. The MC wakes up as a weak, rotting corpse with no memories and barely any intelligence. And from there, it’s pure survival. No overpowered system gifts, no plot armor—just instincts, trial and error, and a whole lot of struggling. The way the author writes the MC’s slow development is amazing. You can actually feel his mind evolving over time, from just reacting to things to making real decisions.
The world-building is also top-tier. The Akashic System has just enough mystery to keep you guessing, and I love how progression feels earned. Every little improvement the MC makes feels like a big deal, which is rare in LitRPGs these days.
Also, the horror vibes? Chef’s kiss. The descriptions of decay, the way the MC’s body literally falls apart—it’s grim, but in a fascinating way. You really feel like you’re experiencing what it’s like to be undead.
If you want a LitRPG that actually feels different, this is it. No generic OP protagonist, no cookie-cutter power-ups—just raw, gripping storytelling. Highly recommend!

I think I’m really starting to love the way the MC thinks, and since we only get his perspective, it makes it even better. Like, he just keeps pushing forward, constantly questioning things and putting things on the back of his mind. I don’t know if it’s intentional or not, but it makes him feel more human. He doesn’t have some grand, perfect understanding of everything and he’s not some genius who magically knows how the world works. He just exists, figuring things out as he goes, and honestly, I enjoy that.
Even though all he’s doing right now is killing, it doesn't really feel repetitive because we’re watching his mindset shift little by little. Don't get me wrong, it's a bit repetitive, but I like how he’s not just some emotionless murder machine. He’s thinking, observing, and struggling. And he’s not even realizing how much he’s changing. It’s so fun to read because his thought process is so natural for his situation, but at the same time, if you take a step back, you realize how messed up it is. Also, I like the skill-acquiring system, but it does feel a bit fast like he almost gains a skill every chapter. However, it does keep it a bit interesting, and maybe since it's only the beginning, that might be the case.
