The Path Forward

Covered in a blanket of darkness, a boy cried out, but his cries went on unheard.

His death was imminent, his life ticked away with every beat of the heart.

There was no thought, no pain, only the darkness and silence. However, before he would draw his last breath, a rumble shook the ceiling and light shined above. His eyes slowly gazed upwards and their eyes met, a woman who looked at him with such tender gaze and a boy who saw nothing but her face within the light.

She would care for him and teach him about the world of cultivation. Though his talents are no good, he would try his best to make his master proud.

Even when there is nothing more

He will never give up because in this world, he wants nothing more than to make her proud.
