The Novel's Extra's Extra

Description
As a reader, Cristopher always looked for things that entertained him, didn't matter what the "critics" said, all that matters was his own opinion on the novel, so he started reading "The Novel's Extra", a webnovel that despicts an author who is transmigrated to his own novel. It was fun and all with its own good and bad points, really, one of his favorites novels at the end of the journey, and that's taking into account the little fact that he didn't have too many things he was able to enjoy, not in that empty shell that was called life for him... Why could someone be born like that? With a void inside, an endless void that slowly consumes oneself...
But... for better or worse... everything changed one day, the same day he woke up to discover he had the same faith of the author whose novel he just finished reading, becoming an extra in a novel, becoming The novel's extra's extra...
/Ok, now that's the description I thought of... first of all, for those of you who are reading this, if any, a few points I have to make clear:
1. I'm not an english native speaker, so if you find anything wrong in the text, please let me know, that would help me learn, and I would be thankful for that.2. I'm writting this out of pure "enjoyment", so while I'll try to be constant, I'll not make any promises.3. True reason why I'm writing this is because I'm going through a moderate to crippling depression right now (and no, is not because anything trully bad and horrendous happened to me, it seems to have something to do with my brain's malfuctioning, among other things), and doctors told me to try writing as I enjoy reading. So yeah, this is more like a self-help excercise, to keep myself distracted while trying to be safe from my self.4. I choose to make a fanfiction of "The Novel's Extra" as I don't trully know how to write, and because I really loved that webnovel, though there are some points I didn't particulary liked.5. If you see some (let's be clear, really much) self insertion on this series, well, that may be me trying to escape reality, to which I make an early warning and disclaimer, and also ask for forgiveness, as I said before, this is more of an excercise, so don't take it too serious.6. I'll be a slow writer, as I have to still check a few things from the novel, even when I've read it like 3 or 4 times already, and because I know shit about writing a novel or a series.7. If you get to enjoy this, then that's good, I would be glad about it, maybe even more motivated, but I don't really expect this to be any good.
Thanks to you all who may, or may not, be reading this novel./

- MurafaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5For those of you who had read The Novel's Extra before, you'll like it.
Even though the early part of the story could be better. It's not bad, mind you. I just think it could use some improvement. But you can see the quality improve as you read more, and considering the author never had experience writing and his reason to write is just for the sake of enjoyment, I have to say it's really good for a first time. So you definitely should check it out.
A few things that I find weird is, Christopher, in the early part he is like some kind of lonely, always bored guy. So he decided to fill his days with music. But at the later part, he is suddenly become an extroverted, outgoing guy. Well, it's not really sudden, but it was just so weird seeing him change so much while there's really nothing big happening to change him so much.
And second, the quality just seem to improve when it's in 3rd person perspective, or when it's in a narrative pov. Like, weird, right?¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In a good way.

-Overall score 4,5 because I definitely enjoyed it
-Style score 3, the writing style just feels weird, especially at the early part of the story
-Story score 5, what can I say? i love the story idea.
-Grammar score 4, heh, why 4 you said? Cause I'm not good with grammar myself so I just gave what I thought appropriate;;)
-Character Score 3,5, the character act rational enough, although I think there are some that doesn't fit with the original one. - Benw8888Royal Road★★★★ 4.0First, I want to point out that The Novel's Extra (the work this fanfiction is based off of) is an amazing novel. The author faithfully reproduces some of the best parts of the original novel, automatically boosting my enjoyment of this fanfiction.
As for the rest of the writing, here's a TLDR:
TLDR: Great merging of original concepts and fanfiction, making this story more than just a self insert. It's fun if you like the main character being powerful and teaching/guiding characters from the original work. However, it's a bit of a slog sometimes.
STYLE: Pretty good. The author is competent for a fanfiction writer and gets better. The only iffy part is the POV transitions- sometimes the author switches between Third and First person. I would personally recommend not going first person on characters besides the MC.
STORY: The concept of an OP serial isekai protagonist being placed in TNE and becoming a mentor is cool. The only problem is that the story becomes boring sometimes, and I think the reason is that long fights without narrative importance are boring. There needs to be tension, or some importance to the story/plot for a long fight to be enjoyable. Therefore, the multi-chapter long dungeon fights were a bit too much.
GRAMMAR: Pretty good, with a few mistakes but still good.
CHARACTER: The author is actually great at fleshing out characters. This is NOT a stereotypical fanfiction where every character starts to become a carbon copy of the author. Instead, every character has their own personality that is fleshed out, from annoying characters to yandere waitresses to the nonchalant *sshole that is the MC. I only dock points because I personally dislike the MC's *ssholish attitude to people that aren't close to him. He's still a fleshed out character though. - Crispy RiceRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0A feel good story about christopher. A multidimensional world hopper who was originally OP but became nerfed at the beginning of the story.
The story in itself has some really fun situations. The MC inception going on is amazing and a novelty i haven't read before. Hard to do so nowdays.
Grammar is OK, could be better, cloud be worse. Hey, the book is free!
The authors' lack of experience shows due to the stiffness in dialogue sometimes. Said stiffness could also come from the fact the author is a non-native speaker who I suspect doesn't really have that many conversations in english.(could be wrong)
Characters don't feel like cardboard cutouts of each other but sometimes do behave in somewhat (IMO) illogical ways meant to move the plot forwards.
Word selection could be better. For example on one paragraph the actual MC was talking about a family gathering an intead of the frequently used word "gathering" the word "reunion" was used. The word reunion works but at the time time it's not what most people use. I'm a native spanish speaker so from spanish "reunion" makes sense. Again, just some words here and there.
On another note, the main characters exposition can get a bit tiring after a few chapters. (Please use more marator pov and not mc pov)
This story is meant as a hobby and the author expressed so in the synopsis so none of these points are deal brakers on my eyes. If i had to compare I'd say this story is above average from what one finds IN RR.
Overall it's a fun read. Let's see how long it'll last until it's eventual hiatus ☹️
(Give this novel a try. It's worth at least 2 cents) - miscalculationRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0As someone who's read and loved (the first arcs of) Novel's Extra, this fanfiction is a decent work. The beginning's a bit janky, but the author clearly improves in all aspects as the story progresses. Note that while the plot stays quite faithful to the original, the author did add in characters not found in the original. I am interested in how the author will deal with the later arcs since that’s where Novel’s Extra kind of broke down (that is of course if this work hasn’t entered into *hiatus* by then – it DOES have a lot of ground to cover).
Style - 3,5/5
The style might be a bit off-putting to readers browsing the first dozen chapters, but it improves vastly in the later chapters. As another reviewer noted, the improvement is especially noticeable when chapters switch from a first-person POV to a third-person POV. I heavily recommend to stick to
The difference between the latest chapters and the first ones is such that it is a bit hard to sum it all up in with a single rating. I’d give a 2/5 for the beginning and 4/5 for the latest chapters.
Grammar - 3,5/5
I’m personally not that hung up on grammar on a site such as Royalroad IF AND ONLY IF the author states that writing is purely a hobby of theirs. Novelists that earn money from their works of fiction (i.e. Patreon) are of course held to a higher standard. That being said, there’s a vast gulf between ‘worse than google translate after putting it through 3 language pairs’ and ‘professional level’. Just do an advanced search on this site and look for novels below 3 stars if you want examples of the former kind. The reviews are hilarious sometimes.
This work is quite readable, although the punctuation might strike the reader as a bit wonky in the earlier chapters.
Story - 4/5
As mentioned before, the broad storylines are faithfully followed. For readers who’ve read Novel’s Extra, some scenes might come across as a slightly rephrased version of the original. That’s not really a valid complaint though since this i - malinizgeldiRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5a ton of nonsense. We know almost nothing about cristopher. what is it actually? What brought him to this world? Assuming that it is not the world he first traverses, we must consider at least one adult. BUT this bastard is acting like he's 10 years old for some reason. After the 80th episode, he starts talking by insulting almost everyone. he's an op, such an op that the only person who can almost stand against him is the last demon of the book. and he acts like a total @ss. His conversations with "Olivia, the English princess and that waitress" around him are completely unbearable. I can't believe how you made olivia so unbearable. someone who is shameless and completely off-putting. no matter how humiliated he gets, he never strays away from cristopher. I still read 100 short chapters. Maybe I'll see the finale in the future. I recommend reading it, but don't expect much.
