The New Death

Description

Anna Knox died a hero. Pity it didn't stick. A moment of unscheduled heroism has resulted in her joining the legions of the almost-dead, punching a clock in both the land of the living and the in-between. In both worlds, she's one of the untold masses service workers. On the living side, a waitress and gig worker. On the other side, one of the Reapers, psychopomps charged with the task of delivering the dead to wherever they're meant to go.

And you thought Uber was tough.

I'm looking forward to reading more. Your writing style flows smoothly, and avoids awkward turns of phrase. The action is interleaved with humor, and the POV character doesn't exhibit irrational bravery as if they possessed Plot Armor.
Wait, this review isn't 50 words long? How about now, RR?
What, seriously? Still not 50 words?

since the first draft, and I hope you'll continue to be, since the effort has paid off.
Style is your usual, judging by your campaign and that old draft you sent, which is to say I continue to be a fan of the limited first person, particularly how the insignificant details like one of the shots hitting the pictogram on the sign in the chest, or Marlena specifically having a Glock vs. Mikey's unspecified piece, are being remembered as clearly as the major events. Seems right to me, but I can't quite explain it.
Story is good, end of chapter keeps me interested and I expect to raise that as more of the story gets released.
Nothing to comment on grammar, didn't notice any errors.
Character is where you're lacking at the moment, but that's natural since your protagonist only shows up in the last paragraph, so I fully expect to see that rise, too. Specifically, would like to see if/how Anna's accidental (?) heroism mirrors Eddie's, here. From the limited exposure to this world, this seems deliberate, maybe she specifically gets people who died in a similar way as herself?
Please keep this up, I want to read it. Also, word requirements for reviews are bullshit if no word counter is given.
