The quality is good and I see the start of some solid world building and interesting things happening. But it too slow for me, in what happens in the story and how slow it gets released.  Both of which will improve with more writing, so will have a look in the future.

This is a great fresh twist on a trope and subversion of expectations that still feels oddly right. With a main character that you can really connect with their motivations, and honestly be a little jealous of their moral compass, this story is not finished but it has great bones.
Oh yes. I did. You didn't think I would but I did.

This is a very enjoyable story.  Jeremiah is a likable character who wanted magic and ended up being a necromancer.  He's smart but a little naieve, clearly just starting out on his adventure.  I've been liking it alot how he's been interacting with his team, his views on magic, and his relationship with his master.  It's a light view on the dark arts.

The main appealing point of this book to me is the lack of an egotistical, harem seeking, cringlord MC. On top of that, the characters are well written, and I feel like most of the characters have an interesting backstory in their pocket, which I can not wait to read about. The story also explores the moral implications of being a necromancer well. It does not give a half answer like, "all necromancer are misunderstood," or, "necromancers are only those who are Evil (with a big E)." I am looking forward to see how the world develops and where circumstance might take the MC.

The Necromancer's End is a pretty good story, and well worth a read. Its main feature is its tightness: it looks like a well planned work, where care was taken to pare it down to what actually contributed.
In terms of style, it is engaging, with a focus on character development and a sense of good humour about it that softens the darker scenes  without cheapening them.
This is aided by the characters being so memorable. They read like they've come right out of a good rpg table; they have distinct voices, ideas, and dreams. The one critique I would make, and halfheartedly at that, is that a lot of the supporting cast end up receiving less characterisation than one might wish. Even that speaks to the tightness of the writing.
The plot is well paced, engaging, and character driven. Unlike a lot of other works, the story does not stall or rush, except perhaps at the very end; there are no glaring plot holes and tension is maintained without recourse to tricks like unnecessary power progression.
The grammar is pristine. Not much to say there, which is a good thing.
Overall, I highly recommend this story. It's just short enough to leave you wanting for more... and you're in luck, for there is a sequel!

Wonderful tale of found family and dead bodies. I loved the main characters, and anyone the story spent time with was a real person, even the one off characters. It’s also short and sweet, with only 41 chapters, which means it won't take days to read.
    Incredible work wordsmith

This is a fun read! I read your Jank stories, and I want to see how you handle a full length novel. We're headed in the right direction so far. Thus far Im liking everything Im reading, though I wish it werent weekly. Or that Jank got an update.
Style: Good dialogue, mostly feels very natural and bantery. Feels like a dnd game, which makes sense given your listed background. Your way of writing makes it feel like things are dynamic, and theres no perfect characters or boring situations.
Story: Classic stuff, adventuring and necromancers and such. But I think youre gonna make it a good time to read. Maybe it could use a bit more faff? Like, not full LotR levels, but some extra stuff to help flesh things out.
Grammar: I have no idea if the grammar is good, Im bad at grammar. Nothing obvious thought.
Character: Classic style characters, but theybe got nuance and some depth that Im enjoying. They seem competent, and like they dont exist just to serve the MC and be his sounding board. Like theres tons of stuff going on in the background we're not privy to, and I like that! Makes the world feel busy.

I love stories with necromancers.  I played a necromancer at a larp for 10 years and 6 years as a dark knight which is a knight that uses necromancy.  So I related to this story alot Especially when the MC had some troubles in the city. No one ever expects the necro to help. Don't matter how good you are or how much you help. They always over react to you being a necromancer.

This book is one of the best fantasy books on this site, every character feels real and seems to have depth, grammar and dialogue are great, combat is exceptional, and the world building is amazing. I would really recommend giving this book a try, it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I read it

Fun read! The MC is wonderful to watch go through his adventures and the way his character changes as he encounters difficulties feels believable. His teacher is my favorite! If you ever write a second book, please have his teacher show up for lots of chapters! The grammar and diction are right on point and fit the narrative. Fun easy read.  Recommend this book!
