I don't always like it books I am reading are dropped to be remade. But I enjoy this more I like the class you chose alot better. The world building feels a bit better. I perfer the reaper class alot more it feels alot better and explains alot more. Power synergy is great love the cast of course. So keep up the great work! I hope you get more positive reviews, also idk how to word it well but this one reads alot better as a whole.

I am continually amazed at the quality of fiction i find here at Royal road, this had me gripped half a chapter in and i subsequently binged it.
Good characters, fairly good world building (it has a lot of potential AND its only book one so it would probably take away from other metrics if more time was spent on the world building so early"
Plot is solid and leaves many avenues for the future.

I've read the first 15 chapters so far and I'm really enjoying the story. Jack has been isekai'd and has woken up in the body of a washed up loser in a new world with demons and corrupt guards aplenty. So, the usual.
This does still feel like a bit of a rough draft, but it's clear that the author has talent and most of the story already sorted out. If I had any quibbles I'd ask for maybe a little more back story. The only reason I know jack is a vet so far is because it's in the blurb.
Also, I kind of expected him to lean on the head wound a bit more to excuse why he doesn't know anything and has a completely different personality rather than jump straight to the "I'm from another world" thing.
Overall, fun story that kicks off pretty quick. Definitely worth a read.

I absolutely loved this story. I am super tired rn. I just finished an 14 hour shift and my brain is a bit fuzzy now but this story was incredible and I seriously need to k ow more. Please do not end this story here, please continue it. I urge others to read this book and share it around as well. It is just great and I see so much more potential getting lined up here for more story to be made/added.
it’s a great book and I’ve been jonesing for more since I finished it and was shattered to find a 2nd book hasn’t been done yet. I know the author may have other projects but please please please do not drop off on The Nailmaker. It was so good and I’ve read it twice now already just to try ease the urge for more lol
200 out of 10 rating. Please make into a 4-10 book epic saga lol!

I Absolutely loved this book. It has a great story, interesting characters, and very good world building. The MC isn't just super OP from the start but builds up strong by learning to use all he has in creative ways. This world has the range to create many books and I really look forward to the author doing many more!

The author creates a vivid world with in depth and distinctive characters, while keeping the action interesting without bogging down the story. I recommend at least checking it out.
The only issue that bothers me, is that the mc takes in his predicament quite quickly. He barely questions it, doesn’t ask basic questions, and just continues on. It works fine given the story, but it is a bit confusing.

I love the level-headed character who still has a big heart! The friends he makes along the way all have distinct personalities and two female ones are my favorite. Grand Inquisitor Aurelia seems like she'd be a terrific adversary in the next book! The story flows nicely and is well-written, hoping for a sequel.

This would be a 5 star review, but I get the feeling there wasn't much planning for the 'numbers go up' of a litrpg, along with a few plot points that either twisted weird or don't make a real impact on the story so far.  Characters are well fleshed out with unique personalities and really understandable driving factors.  The magic system seems interesting, but slightly underwhelming where all the power is just handed too the people using the system with nothing but murder-hobo'ing necessary to advance.  Super OP MC is super OP pretty much from the start, he just doesn't understand that about himself had also been a slightly recurring theme imo, as I've noticed several things that have the potential to make him unstoppable if utilized correctly. Great read overall, with very few grammatical or syntax errors, and full of action from the start.

TLDR: Good book, but idiot MC. 4/5 Do not recommend.
Jack Driver, a retired war veteran, is thrust into the body of nailmaker during the tail end of a monster invasion. Fitting into the new world is the age-old challenge for outworlders like him, and would be a piece of cake if not for the fact that Jack's new body happens to be indelibly marked as a thief. With everyone of any importance refusing to deal with him, Jack finds a few unlikely companions as he sets out to level up, discover the world's secrets, and stay as far as he possibly can from the wars he hated in his previous life.
The Nailmaker is a high-action litrpg with in-depth worldbuilding and a major focus on crafting that seems to be inspired by aRPGs like path of exile. The main character is OP, with a class that offers offense, defense, utility, and crafting skills. Although the upgrades are watered down with a half dozen 'fake' options, there are a few level-ups that do inspire theory crafting when they occur. The worldbuilding is best described as epic, with a rich world that contains several nuanced factions, a plethora of strange and unique monsters, and countless unexplored secrets just waiting to be discovered.
It is also a complete book, with a beginning, middle and end that is a rare sight on this website.
Despite all this...I cannot recommend this book for two primary reasons.
The first is that the story has major foreshadowing issues. The story constantly introduces things with very obvious consequences but then doesn't do anything with them. Instead, it resorts to new ideas in the endgame that feel flat and false when they come out of nowhere to save the day. It is almost as if the story isn't a complete story and is actually the first part of a larger novella that hasn't come out yet.
    Spoiler-heavy examples:
    1) Jack takes a combat-enhancing drug and is warned it is addicting. At no point does he ever suffer withdrawal symptoms or gets angry when the drug is withheld from him, etc.
    2) Jack

This is a well written and edited story told with panache.
The MC almost commits himself to the void before getting sent to a second rate body, his version of truckun was quite fun telling much about the character.
Lots going on in the story and plenty of twists to keep the reader paying attention.
Worth spending time reading, the story has reached the end of the first book.
