- AnehaliaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The premise of this story intrigued me, and the execution kept me reading. The author balances the story of her cults and people well, giving me time to know a little bit about all of her different followers.
The author also did a good job of showing a human from Earth trying to adapt to their new reality as a deity. Samantha is still desperate for human connection, especially at the beginning, but as the story progresses, she also starts to fall more into her role and truly step up to her throne as a Goddess of this new world.
The writing was easy to read and made for an entertaining story. I was able to catch up to the current chapters with ease. Overall I would recommend this story to anyone looking for a relaxing fun system-based world with a human protagonist adjusting to be a Goddess. (Or to a person looking for OP protagonists, god-like protagonists, or protagonists becoming a god). Fun story and I look forward to continuing to read more. - ArgrowwRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I stumbled across this LitRPG as my 2nd story on Royal Road and its been an amazing journey so far!
The progression of 'normal Earth girl' to Goddees was perhaps a little quick, but I'm enjoying the story and progression nonetheless. Samantha comes across as someone who doesnt take herself or her followers too seriously...but at the same time deeply cares for all of them. Which of course is a stark contrast to the Dominion.
Since starting Mirror World i have tried several other stories, but it has remained a firm favourite next to Bog Standard and i eagery await reading more of Samantha's journey in her new world as she expands her follower base and encounters both new friends and foes! - Miles EnglishRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I spent half the week reading this story instead of writing my own stuff, and I am in extreme danger of falling behind. BE CAREFUL! This story is extremely fun and engaging and it will draw you in and keep you reading.
Sammy is a very fun character, but she also works really effectively at shining on a spotlight of a terrifically drawn cast of characters. Definitely worth a read. - MithralDragonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story starts out with the MC becoming immortal -- a goddess. But it's not all it's cracked up to be, she starts out as the lowest of the deities and has to work her way up and there is a country/organization that is killing off the gods so she has to work to stay immortal.
Lots of interesting threads and sub-stories with the people she interacts with and convince to worship her. Neat story with a lot of potential.
I haven't seen any major issues with spelling punctuation or other grammatical issue. There is of course, the occasional typo, but the author is quick to react to edit suggestions. - NorohRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm having a lot of fun reading this, as it reminds me of 3.5 dnd but with a goddess. Breezy in tone but heartfelt and dramatic when it needs to be. Samantha is a character who is easy to invest in, without feeling bland. The way she meets her ecclectic followers is facinating, and watching her develope her relationship with her flock as she slowly comes into her own as a goddess is a joy.
- RemBestGirlRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I absolutely love the story and it is something very unique!
It has ensnared me in it's grip after the first chapter and I am now wholly interested in more and more chapters being released and if there is a Patreon I may even consider buying it for more chapters ^~^ - gostsamoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Cute, funny, and sweet. If you are looking for any three of the above, this story is for you.
Sammy, also know as "your majesty", got herself signed for an adventure for eternity. And if she is going to be sent to another world, she would like to enter it from the top. Being goddess however is not so easy. The system providing her power has read Harvard Business Review and has strong opinions what can go in a world, while her followers so far live in a country which handles gods with extreme prejudice. This is not a good hand to be dealt with, however she has the ability to change things here and there. Gather the tired, the poor, the huddled ... and give them a bit of hope and overwhelming firepower in exchange for their devotion. okay, owning mirrors means that you are not all that poor, but hopefully, you'll get the gist of the idea. With a clear path to more power, things are not looking bad for Sammy. If only there wasn't the stupid word in her title...
The style is pretty good, with lots of light elements and notes of seriousness sometimes. There is the occasional emotional peak, so be on the guard for a ninja with a onion bag.
The cast of characters is pleasantly diverse so far. Different people, different backgrounds, different quirks. Some of them will take some more time before developing depth, but the author looks capable of carrying out the task.
Grammar is one of those things which are worth talking about only when they are absent, but the case is not such here, so nothing to comment.
Overall, it is a good story. Give it a chance, and thank me later. :) - DeathwingminionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's great story about a girl transported into a new world as a goddess. She will now not only have to deal with the responsibility that comes at being a goddess, but she will also learn that this world dominating empire hates the gods and they tend to destroy new born gods and other spirits like beings, the empire are fascists assholes who kill anything that is not human. I love this story because it takes a new look at Fanasty/Isekai genre that is very creative, with a lot of potential. This story have tons of characters with their own motivations and with likeable personalities. They don't just blindly follow her but have their own reason some are personal others wants to change the world and don't like the current world governing powers. Also The goddess has her angel like servants that are just my personal favorite characters, not only that, but they are also the comedic relief in the story. The mc is also a likeable character with a sometime edgy, dark and sarcastic humor. She behaves like how noraml person would do when dumped with these responsibilities of being a goddesses and with a target own her back. But, She will do anything to protect her fellowers and grow strong. Long live our goddess.
It's great story that takes a spin on Fanasty genre and I think have a lot of potential, Highly recommended 👌. - DirtybonessRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Accept my pun and rating for what they are. Story good. - JR CastleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I got sucked in immediately, and honestly don't think people need too much convincing to get hooked like I did. Literally just read those first couple paragraphs, how could you not?
Style
Here's the big strength: the author's use of language is so, so captivating. Light, sardonic, genuinely funny. I was instantly captured by Sammy and her world, her thoughts, her little asides; the third person limited narration makes this character stand out with just enough distance to have some of her own sass bounce back on her, and it's great. There are so many great little word choices, and they were all done so expertly and smoothly, I honestly felt a little jealous as a writer. This is the kind of narrative voice that I could sit and read talk about basically anything.
Story
This is a character-driven progression story, so mostly the plot revolves around Sammy getting stronger and more aware of the world she finds herself in. The worldbuilding comes steadily and unobtrusively, and at this point is even a little tangential, serving mostly to give flavor, though there are inklings here of a broader plot. For the protagonist to truly come into her own, she'll probably need to do something about the fact that godly worship has been made taboo in this setting, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is where the story starts heading sooner or later.
I guess, the one thing this story might be missing right now to really get it over to the next level is a clear and present threat. The biggest danger for Sammy is a lack of followers, but she seems to be amassing them easily enough so there isn't much tension there. A clear antagonist actively working against our protagonist, that's what I'm waiting for. That said, the story does work for me as it is now too; I enjoy the low stakes, the character interactions, Sammy's reckoning with her new reality, it's all very fun so far, and is done very honestly.
Characters
I think Sammy's incredibly strong as a protagonist, thought that probably do
