  I've been coming here on RRL looking for good LitRpg and easily digested day by day works. There's comfort in those. Most romances here are awkward at best, absolute shitshows at worst. The mythical elements in the description scared me off; was this the same bore as usual?

  The top peak of this website. Repetitions are almost inexistant, paragraphs, chapters, arcs all flow so smoothly. The cliffhangers are strong but not forced. Changes in perspective flow well and are done with purpose. No exposition dump. Good jokes even, natural dialogue. I can go on all day.

  Although the story is not my usual cup of tea, with romance being heavy, it is very very well crafted. The world is slowly exposed to the readers and makes sense without being too much. There's very clear progression, and no lulls in the pacing. It helps that releases are regular. Talking about releases, oh, the few sex chapters aren't bad at all either, quite creative too!

  I have not noticed a single error. I'm a quick reader, but even in the usual suspects for first place here I find a few snags. NOTHING. Is this a famous author having fun?

  To lend credence to the theory, the characters in this novel are the standard that all should aspire to. They are all well defined, have a purpose and are revealed for good reasons. They have so much mystique, so much guts, well defined flaws. Most important, they drive the story. I cannot think of a single contender in that aspect around here.

  TL;DR Whatever books you read here, give this a chance. I would not have been surprised to read this at my library in the top spot for young adult fiction. Extremely well crafted, a standard in using characters to guide plot.

  Came to RR to read this by recommendation of a friend.  This reads like a real novel.  It's dark romance.  Beauty & the Beast with monsters and horror.  I love it.  But it's not for everyone.
  Pacing is a little slow at first.  Picks up as you go.  Incredible twists and turns in the story, really developed characters.  Everyone is believable - even the ancient people the MC meets feel like they could be that old.
  Noticed a few inconsistencies but nothing that can't be fixed with an edit pass.  Same with some typos and grammar issues.  Otherwise, can tell this isn't her first try at writing.
  Highly recommend.  Cant wait for more!

  first book is paced slow, but that isn't bad imo.  character development isn't a bad thing.  story has great twists and turns.  author has said that this is going to be a 3 book arc and we're almost done with the third one and i'm so sad to see it go.  was lurking on this site but made an account to leave this review.
  better than most things on rr.  better written, sounds like a real writer, reads great.  dark, gorey, has some great erotica in it.  hope she writes more and this isn't her only story.

  The Masks of Under is a story that isnt for everyone. You will find very few like it online as darker romance tales are a rare thing. Even rarer are they as well written as this. It isnt often that you get a story online that is a well thought out and complete tale. Yes, the content will drive many away, but if you can look past it you will find yourself growing attached to the characters and their unique world.
  Im into book three and so far it has been a wild ride of emotions. This isnt some hastily written fan-fic thrown together by someone. It reads like an actual book. Remember those things?

  Horror/Romance are not genres I normally read. I couldn't be happier I gave this a try. The beginning has an excellent sense of realism and takes place in my adopted hometown of Boston. The rest of the novel takes place in an otherwordly plane that is absolutely unique. A harsh place that just squeezes out emotion at every sharp corner.
  I am a bit disapointed that the novel ended without fully completing the cycle. Forgive the vagueness, I'm trying not to spoil here. I had anticipated this last bit quite hungrily, especially given the dynamics of a compasionate MC tempered by the realities of Under.
