The magic is dead

The long war finally ended with humanity as the final winners, freedom obtained at the price of gods leaving and magic dimming.

As to why the records of it all seems to have been written with the broadest of the strokes well that's the point of this tale, since time immemorial the history has been written by the winners and we all know how humans love to delude themselves.
