Description

Lucian Verdan, a man of logic, precision and ambition — a scientist whose brilliance was matched only by his detatchement from morality. But when his life is cut dramatically short, he finds not a state of non-existence like his scientific mind would lead him to believe, but in a world that he does not recognise: a medieval society of knights, ancient traditions, and an unsettling new body.

As he navigates this unfamiliar body and world, Lucian quickly realises that his past life's expertise is of little use here, as the laws of physics, chemisty, maths — everything seemed slightly altered and different than he remembered them to be in his previous world — or so it appears. He is first led to believe that this world was just like his previous, only set far back into the past than he'd have liked.

But he quickly learns that things are not as they seem...

The line between science and fantasy seemed to be blurred in this world, as he finds out many concepts which were only considered topics of fiction in his previous world were very real in this one.

Magic is real, the laws of reality are different, and he had no care for morals and ethics.

It almost seemed like this world was tailored for a scientist like Lucian to come knocking at all its secrets.

Like some have pointed out, yes this is inspired by a certain novel. And you know what ? Its good. I like it. I am salivating while waiting for the next chapters.
There is just one point in the story that i wish was different. The knights. It seems that everyone believes that knights are inferior when you have mages. But that made me wonder... if Lucian in his past life was willing to do whatever it took to see if souls are real or not, then woudn't it be interesting to see Lucian proving once and for all if the path of a knight has truly not future ? With enough data on knights and grandknights if should be possible to MAYBE create a path that wpuld allow them to walk it.
At the end of the day i am excited to see where this goes !!!

Overall decent nothing too crazy.
World building so far has been nearly non existent. Confined to the academy. Though I imagine its just too early for this. And hopefully more will be revealed soon.
Overall the mc is not really likeable tbh. Extremely arrogant. Dismissing an entire path to power instantly. And he is a sociopath obviously and I believe he knows that. But he also seems to be a narcissist and does not realize. Overall I hold little hope that the mc will experience any character growth at all. But it is possible I suppose.
Other characters + story. Honestly we have not really gotten much/anything about other people. Except for everyone else even young children all being bullies and ruthless with no real personalities. So most side characters are likely to remain shallow or irrelevant.
