James is the chosen beast tamer of the 70th universe, but there's a twist the system that has taken over this recently integrated Universe uses gacha. Instead of one system to unite them all each universe births a new system based on the most common type of game/past time there is. In universe 70 that happens to be gambling and gacha so at the flip of a coin it chose gacha as it's way to work.
