The Long Wait

When the System descends upon Earth, humanity is given a choice: enroll in a sponsored tutorial or remain behind for the long wait.

For those who select a tutorial, there is only one guarantee. If they survive they will be returned to Earth in five years. But with nothing more than a tutorial name, the name of a sponsor, and a vague description to guide them, choosing a tutorial from the thousands of options is a toss of the dice.

Surviving an Earth transformed is a dubious prospect for those who reject the tutorials. For most, the only hope is enduring the long wait until the tutorial-bound return and bring salvation. For others, the long wait is an opportunity; a five year head start at exploring a world seeded with endless paths to power.
