Description
In a world where Earth's days are numbered, a mysterious System offers humanity one last chance at survival. For Brendan, a musically gifted seventeen-year-old who prefers solitude to spotlight, it becomes an unexpected opportunity for a fresh start.
Transported to a realm of magic and monsters, he discovers that his talent for creating original music and lyrics isn't just a hobby anymore—it's power. As the first to unlock the unique class of Virtuoso, Brendan must learn to transform his musical creativity into magic, all while navigating the challenges of a new world and his reluctance to form lasting connections.
But this isn't just about personal survival. As he travels between adventuring groups, a greater threat emerges. One that might require him to step out of his comfort zone and into a role he never imagined: founding humanity's last bastion in this fantastic new world.
A story of music, magic, and finding your place in a world where every song could mean the difference between life and death.

- 100 Fathom CurveRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very good slow burn progression story. All of the characters show development, and the humor is very tongue-in-cheek, with a running gag that somehow maintains its humor throughout the storyline.
The author holds true to the original theme and the story does not bog down or become excessively complicated. Very few authors continue to hold my interest through a storyline this long, but I found myself staying up way past when I should have gone to bed several times simply trying to find a place to stop for the night. (I would promise myself over and over, "Just one chapter more...") - WrecktifiedRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Good story telling. The MC is likable and development is good and well written. I also like the other characters that have been included. I am still in the early chapters but the writer is keeping me engaged. I am enjoying this read. Keep thinking thinking that eventually there might be a family reunite theme added that might be cool as well. Cant wait to see how it all plays out.
- choc51Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I really enjoy reading this novel with a very good premise of a fighting bard and all, understand the slow burn growth and even enjoy it too (but I'm kind of a huge fan of slow burn) but have been having a bit of an issue in the latest "training" arc. While I normally strongly like this types of arcs, I have a bit of an issue here the whole "the-hero- is-humilated-by-everyone-during-his-training" thingy. It's really fun and all when sparsely and appropriately used but being humilated by everyone all the time for everything he does starts getting a bit boring and definetely repetitive.
Otherwise, great novel!! - CatgurlRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Needs some work. The start is horribly dark and depressing. The parents were smart enough to see what was coming and prepare bolt holes and extra food, but did not buy or practice with weapons, which struck me as suicidal.
The lyrics are a great idea, but need some more thought I think.
Skimmed a bit and what I read seemed to follow the same pattern as the start. Decent writing, but I could not make myself read further on this one. Story would benefit from a little more thought and some editing. Good grammar and spelling.
